I have nothing positive to contribute to this thread, other than to say that the ZZL Politics board helped me with my "arguing with assholes/idiots on the internet" compulsion. So, I guess, well done for attracting so many of them?
Well sure, but did you see what Richard Lindzen wrote about [fill in the blank]?

I'm fine here. I can see through the foolishness. If you can't, maybe go back to the old board where Snoop got rid of the people that he didn't agree with.
We can all see the foolishness quite clearly.

It’s the inflammatory rhetoric by people unable to exhibit self-control that’s a problem.

And blaming Snoop for your problems is sad. Hopefully you spend more time self-reflecting and less time complaining. You’ll be better for it.

Probably so but I think blaming Snoop for the problems he caused is dead on correct. We're now seeing several people coming back and talking about the arbitrary bans that Snoop threw down on people he didn't like. Compare that to zoo's experience with seven temporary bans, who knows how many warnings and no permanent ban, but Snoop agreed with him so got to let him float. That wasn't an uncommon experience for those of us on the board. Snoop coming back and talking about how it was so hard dealing with those folks he didn't like but he did his best to be even-handed is absurd.
And we now see what a more vibrant board with different opinions is like. I think most people like this one better, Even if we rather rarely have to sort through the rather obvious conspiracy theories.

Without the sports boards providing a significant number of drive-by posters who had no intention of posting in good faith plus a much better ignore system here, comparing this version of the ZZLP to the IC version isn't an apples-to-apples comparison.

When you have a smaller community of folks who have greater investment in the future of the community, it is far easier for a board to self-police rather than one where folks can drop in and cause chaos before leaving again.

You're conflating two different issues. You're getting criticized for your approach to moderating long-term posters that you disagreed with versus the ones who you liked. Stop acting like every person you banned was some fly-in from a tar pit or from a different scout board.

Or don't. It's water under the bridge at this point. Keep lying to us if you want to, but I do wonder if you're still lying to yourself about treating everyone the same.

I don’t know, Snoop, and this is not me telling you what to do, but if I were you I would consider just completely leaning into it. Tell gtyellowjacket and any of the other whiny right wing bitches that you specifically targeted them and only them, and that it was specifically because you hated them and only them, and therefore you used the immense powers that you had as an unpaid moderator on an offtopic messageboard on a sports website, to specifically make their lives, and only their lives, miserable. Just admit it! Tell them what they want to hear!

Whatever you do, please for the love of all that is holy put this dude out of his misery so he stops humiliating himself as a grown ass adult man groveling and begging on an internet message board for a moderator to apologize for moderating. I would be so unbelievably humiliated to look my wife and child in the eyes at the end of the day if I knew that I had spent it crying about some goofball with the name “Snoop Rob” being a great big meanie head to me on the Internet!

The problem is that the greater imbalance of bans weren't from long-term, consistent ZZL/P posters. There just weren't a lot of long-term, consistent ZZL/P posters who got permanent bans for there to be some great imbalance.

If you're claiming this terrible imbalance regarding a handful of posters over a nearly 8 year period, be my guest. But let's not pretend that a handful of posters over 8 years is some massive issue.

Dude just shut the fuck up seriously with your nonsense. Nobody is groveling or begging for anything. The guy started a thread about ZZL moderating. Therefore, people are going to comment on the ZZL moderating. And some will like it and some will not. If you don't want comments on your moderating, maybe don't start a thread specifically about it. So stop complaining when people make on-topic comments in a thread started by an attention starved former moderator.

I’ll post wherever, whenever, and however I goddamn well choose.

You should be on your knees thanking me profusely. I’m trying to help save you and another poster from looking like a bunch of pathetic ass grown adults crying about something called a “Snoop Rob.”

Last thing I’ll say on this thread and then I’ll shut up unless someone specifically responds to one of my posts. I truly do not understand what the big deal is about messsge board moderation. I lost count of how many posts that I had edited or removed on the old ZZLP, and how many times I got direct messages from Snoop and Chris about posting behaviors that were in danger of warranting a ban. Every single time I had a post edited and every single time I PMs from the moderators, I deserved it every single time. And every single time I knocked off whatever I was told to knock off, just like I’ll knock off whatever I’m told to knock off by mods on this new board. It really isn’t difficult. Do grown adults truly legitimately feel this completely violated by message board moderation, and if so, why the fuck?

It's not a matter of disagreement with someone who is saying that FEMA is shooting people. That's blatantly false misinformation and not a point of disagreement. If you want to say FEMA is being helpful enough, then that could be a matter of disagreement, but stating something that is objectively false should not be allowed.

There’s nothing worth reading on the bball board…nothing.
especially since a few days ago some moron screenshotted posts from one of the only true insiders on IC and posted them on a freaking bleacher report message board and now we've lost that insider's information forever.

People keep giving you evidence of your unbalanced moderation over and over and you just won't listen. Why can't you just roll over and agree?
