You are very spiteful.Itās the same principle as when you rub a puppyās nose in its piss when it uses the bathroom inside the house.
To the point that the president is willing to go to Force it open, yes, they do mostly control it, at least in the short-term.Is there any question now that Iran controls the Strait? Trump celebrated when Iran posted they were opening it up so that indicates they have control. And Trump posted today that we have made them a good deal/offer to open the Strait so that indicates they have control.
How would the US force it open?To the point that the president is willing to go to Force it open, yes, they do mostly control it, at least in the short-term.
The US absolutely has the means to force it open, but the president isn't willing to take that step.
Take control of Kharg Island. How would the US force it open?
That doesnāt force the strait to be open. That is simply a leverage technique. The only way to āforceā the strait is to occupy southwestern Iran.Take control of Kharg Island.
From what I have heard, a huge percentage of the drones and other weapons they use to control the straight are on Kharg Island. That doesnāt force the strait to be open. That is simply a leverage technique. The only way to āforceā the strait is to occupy southwestern Iran.
Kharg island isnāt even that close to the strait. Iran has missiles and drones in underground tunnels all along its southwestern mountains. They can easily hit any slow tanker passing through the strait from those locations. Unless you find and remove all those locations and limit the ability of speedboats along the shore, you canāt āforceā the strait open. From what I have heard, a huge percentage of the drones and other weapons they use to control the straight are on Kharg Island.
If that is the case, taking control of, and destroying the weapons on, Kharg Island would render Iran incapable of controlling these strait.
Not at all. I just enjoy when people who so clearly have a wrong viewpoint on something are proven to be wrong. Has nothing to do with spite. You are very spiteful.
Uh that's like over 400 miles away from the Strait I think. They don't need that Island as a launch platform for any weapon. From what I have heard, a huge percentage of the drones and other weapons they use to control the straight are on Kharg Island.

I might have the wrong island name. It might have been Farur. Either way, I've read that 90% of the drones used against ships in the Strait of Hormuz come from one specific island.Kharg island isnāt even that close to the strait. Surely you don't believe that the US lacks the military capability to force the strait open.
Weād have to occupy to force it open. And even then, Iran could occasionally hit a tanker that would make it commercially challenging to transit.I might have the wrong island name.
