I think reductions, not eliminations, in a number of programs were probably warranted such as USAid, head start, even NIH among others.

If they are wrong, add some of them back in. But logically, the best programs, the best science, gets funded first. And then the second best program all the way down the list until the budget runs out. The hope is that by cutting the budget, the remaining money goes to the best programs, and the least effective programs die. I thought we even had a shot at making the biggest cut, defense, but looks like that isn't going to happen.
Trump has said from now on, he will evaluate all research programs using his own common sense

Iran has been threatening to block the Straight of Hormuz since like 1980. They aint gonna do it. Iran would be hurting its “friends” more so than their enemies, aa Iran’s enemies don’t import crude from Iran anyway. And to actually block the Straight would require Iran to violate Oman’s sovereignty, which would invoke the defense pact of the GCC.

“… "At the end of the day there are some really important things that haven't been hit," says Jeffrey Lewis, a professor at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, who tracks Iran's nuclear facilities. "If this ends here, it's a really incomplete strike."

… Lewis says the strike doesn't seem to have touched Iran's stocks of highly enriched uranium.

"Today, it still has that material and we still don't know where it is," he says.

"I think you have to assume that significant amounts of this enriched uranium still exist, so this is not over by any means," agrees David Albright, the president of the Institute for Science and International Security, which has closely tracked Iran's nuclear program for years.

The independent assessments stand in stark contrast to congratulatory statements from the Trump Administration in the wake of the strikes.…”
Gonna have to send troops in to determine the end result

Asked to comment on the details of this article, Ms. Leavitt said the president and his team “successfully accomplished one of the most complex and historic military operations of all time” regarding Iran’s nuclear sites.

She added that

“many presidents have talked about this, but only President Trump had the guts to do it.”

Bullshit Barbie at work again.

One of the most complex military operations in history?

Yeah. I never said it. Sounds to me like you're the one with a credibility issue.
You know I could be wrong maybe it was only Calla, but I know I had that discussion.

You could have said that I'm mistaken, nit a liar. I am not a liar, I posted in good faith. And unlike you and most of the pubs around here, I'm not going to double down. I guess I was mistaken, since you say you didn'targue that trump is a good leader. Now I'm moving on.

If it turns out that Iran’s nuclear facilities were not sufficiently destroyed, Netanyahu will really have a needle to thread when imparting that message to Trump.

Funding is for Congress. Efficient execution is for the President. If you think congressionally approved funds are not needed, then go to Congress and ask for a different budget. It is not the president’s job to unilaterally misappropriate funds passed by Congress.
...there was this Iran - Contra thing once upon a time...
