No trustworthy actors are involved here.

Iran oppresses women and girls, and also is likely using a girl’s school as human shields for military assets.

Israel has been very clear about not caring about civilian casualties in Gaza or presumably likewise in Iran.

The Trump Administration has been reflexively and demonstrably lying about things huge and small across government.

My point exactly. Every stakeholder here sucks, rotten intentions every which way. And now the rest of the world gets to be on pins and needles, endlessly dragged into this disastrous clash over “my god said this” and “well, my god said that.” Women and children as pawns. Global terrorism will shoot up again. And what hope is there with grandstanding sociopaths like Netanyahu and trump calling the shots.

And it’s all about male ego and patriarchal control. In the name of god (and oil). Generation after generation too prideful and self-important to find permanent solutions. Not that it’s easy to solve, but it’s much easier than decade after decade of this ridiculous bullshit. So f’ing tired of it.

I’ll give this administration credit for one thing: they come up with the lamest names for things. “Operation Epic Fury.” It’s like they get 8-year-old boys to come up with that. No offense to 8-year-old boys.

Yeah, a lot coming from Channel 12 in Israel, which sometimes gets things right but is in the pocket of the Israeli right and deeply unreliable.

But we’ll see.
The problem is, Trump has put himself in a situation where he almost has to do something or he's going to look weak. He was the one who told Iranian civilians to keep protesting because help was coming... Iran then proceeded to kill tens of thousands of them. So, if the US doesn't do something, Trump is going to look weak and we know that Trump does not like looking weak.

The problem is that that the Republican Party hasn't put him on a muzzle and a leash. They control all the branches of government and done their best to wreck all of them. A big eff you to you and all your ilk. Everybody that dies is partly your responsibility and every American that dies is fully on you.

The problem is an entire political party deifies a purely self-interested man-child president who spouts off without thinking and then is too insecure to put the best interests of the country above his own fragile ego.

We knew who Trump was a long time ago. This is not out of character or surprising. The problem is the enablers, many of whom used to warn us about the dangers of Donald Trump specifically.

I have given Russians no break for their government. I give Israelis no break for theirs. And I certainly give us no break for ours. We are all to blame. We are all grotesque for letting this happen. As a nation, we deserve to pay the price that will undoubtedly come due.

Do individual Americans deserve it? Most do not. But as a collective? Yes.
Not in any way intended as an insult or attack on you. Just based on reading your comments. You need to get away from politics, social media, and anything else not centered on improving / strengthening your health, business health, financial health, relationships with partner / family / friends. The sky is falling on the left and its falling on the right. The reality of it is that the sky isn't falling and none of the rhetoric you consume is doing anything other than contributing to emotional stress and worry because all of it is designed to do just that. Stoke outrage and worry. We as a nation have been reduced to getting 50% of the story and none of the nuance and context that really tells the true story.

I don't give a shit about the information desert you live in, this is damaging to democracy and the spirit of America no matter how you spin it.

This is where I am. If this somehow works, l will be happy. No sympathy whatsoever for Iran.

BUT, it’s not like this would be the first time a tyrant trying to build an empire targeted oil-rich regions at the beginning of a larger campaign. And now we’ve targeted two of them.

Sure, let's just ignore the world. That always helps with issues. Thanks for the life advice though.

Oil prices will spike as Iran threatens the Straits of Hormuz and capital markets will be torpedoed by the uncertainty and chaos created by the “Peace President,”
Yet, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden sat back and allowed iran to get on the verge of nuclear weapons. So, yea, as it relates to preventing the worst sponsor of terrorism the world has ever seen from acquiring a nuclear weapon and improving human rights for an entire country, peace is exactly what he is trying to achieve. No president in history has done more to improve peace in the middle east than trump. Any semblance of objectivity would show that. World consensus is that no, iran shouldn't have a nuclear weapon but nobody was willing to step up, including the pre-trump US. Time hasn't aged well for all the comments regarding the US ceding its world leadership position to russia, china, and europe. Especially in the middle east.

Well, what is your depression, angst, and negativity going to do to improve the world? But you can improve what you can control until you realize the world isn't nearly as bad as you are being led to believe by those who want you to believe it.

Yeah, as I said at the time, it was immoral for him to call on the protests to proceed, claim the U.S. would back them and then sit back and watch the slaughter. He wanted credit for some people getting tortured and shot instead of hanged.

Bombing Iranian leaders weeks later doesn’t change that.

It will take time to know what the actual outcome of all this is. If it’s like a lot of posturing and quick hits Trump does, it’ll be sound and fury, signifying nothing, if we’re lucky.

Regime change is possible. Organized regime change that doesn’t end in chaos, terrorist resistance and/or months or years of sectarian civil war? That would be a rabbit out of a hat.

Could risk of terrorist retaliation be used as a pretense for yet another emergency declaration, this time to seize the means of elections ahead of the midterms? It sounds a lot less paranoid today than I’d have said a few months ago. There are plenty of breadcrumbs and people in his orbit agitating for just that (though they may not have predicted an alleged or genuine terrorist threat arising from another U.S./Israeli attack on Iran as the exact mechanism).

It will do a hell of a lot more than your fellating of Donald Trump.

Oh, and Iran is not even remotely close to having nuclear weapons.

But we can certainly all rest assured that now every nation on earth will trip.over themselves to build and develop nukes because they are the only weapons thay prevent American aggression.
