This seems like a great development. Folks rising up against Hamas. We’ve heard so much about how Hamas doesn’t equal Palestinians. Great to see the official break here.

Hundreds of Palestinians shouted anti-Hamas slogans at a rare protest in Gaza on Tuesday.

“Hamas out” and “Hamas terrorists” were chanted by the mostly male demonstrators in Beit Lahia as they called for an end to the war with Israel, witnesses said.

CNN reported that another message on social media appeared to call for nine anti-Hamas demonstrations across Gaza on Wednesday, while clips obtained by the network showed crowds marching through the streets of Beit Lahia chanting “We want an end to the war”, it said.

Most protests have been small, but they represent the boldest challenge to the group’s authority by Palestinians since the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel and the ensuing war.

Gosh, maybe the Israelis will stop killing them in bulk now...

Do we know that they were only going after one person, and not many, in the encampment?
It wouldn't be the first time. They bombed a hospital a few days ago (with 4 American doctors) because one member of Hamas' political wing was in the hospital. But, of course, they never release any proof for other bombings. They just bomb haphazardly and then claim that there was a reported Hamas member in the area they bombed. Same shit different day.

Speaking of hospitals, Israel executed 16 members of the ambulance crew, among other aid workers. It's kind of funny how when this all started people believed that Israel didn't bomb that hospital back then.

If trump is serious about cost reduction it is time we tell Israel...you are on your own. And if the Christian-right doesn't like it...what are they going to do? Not going to happen, of course.

Maybe that could be done eventually but not now. Not with Hamas still holding US hostages. Hamas has repeatedly talked about releasing hostages and they simply refuse to do it. The US would never punt on Israel as long as Hamas holds them.

That's not true. They were abiding by the ceasefire timeline and releasing hostages as scheduled. However, Israel broke the ceasefire around 1000 times and decided they didn't want to proceed to stage 2, which would have included the release of more hostages. Instead, Israel decided to burn down aid centers and stop all aid coming in. I can't believe you still think this is about the hostages. By the way, Israel holds thousands of Palestinian hostages (many of them are women and children), but no one seems to care about that.

Israel didn’t bomb the hospital that you are referring to. The fact that you are still peddling conspiracy theories that were debunked by every single western intelligence service is telling.

I would say WTF? But the IDF has been doing this all along. Look at how America dealt with Jihadi John. A drone videoed him getting into an SUV. A missle was launched from the drone taking out the SUV. The IDF doesn’t care about civilian casualties.
There are 15k people/sq mile in Gaza. If Israel didn't care about civilians causalities, there would be a LOT more than 50k civilian deaths in over a year of fighting.

The headline of this thread is DESPICABLE.

What is happening in Gaza and the West Bank is NOT “hostilities.” It’s WAR.

The WAR hasn’t “resumed.”

The WAR hasn’t stopped.

Have they released the US hostages? I thought no? There’s no way the US can untangle itself until they are released.

It’s probably tough for RaiGuy as it sounds like he has people he knows living over there so there’s a bit of grace extended to those who can’t see the full picture. He’s just too close and that’s understandable.

These have been going on for a long time. But it's really hard to mount a protest campaign against the people ruling Gaza, when everyone knows their lives are miserable because their enemy -- the enemy Hamas swore to fight -- was maintaining a blockade of supplies, power, drinking water, etc.

When Israel blockaded Gaza after Hamas was elected, they made it so Hamas would never be tossed out absent a major, major conflagration.

This "blame the Palestinian people who have been oppressed for generations" shit really pisses me off.

Yeah I know. Israel has done enough bad things over there, you’d think he wouldn’t be laser-focused on the bad things that they actually didn’t do.
