The city of Miami pressured a local theater to stop showing an academy award winning film on what is happening in the West Bank under pressure from Jewish groups threatening to revoke the theater's lease. The city quickly reversed course after pressure from a lot more people led by creatives and free speech advocates. Overall its been a bit of a boon for the theater as they are selling out screenings and adding shows.

Alawites to the grave and Christians to Beirut

An early slogan during the Syrian Civil War seems to be active again.

Gaza relocation plan begins: 70 Gazans depart for Europe

“The Defense Ministry will oversee Gaza transfers, with a leader to be appointed soon. Critics warn the program could lead to forced displacement, as no third country has agreed to take in refugees.

As part of the first phase of the plan to relocate Palestinians who wish to leave Gazafor third countries, which appeared to take shape last Wednesday, 70 Gazans with foreign citizenship or family ties abroad departed from southern Israel’s Ramon Airport on a Romanian military plane bound for Europe.

… Israel’s Security Cabinet approved the establishment of the directorate tasked with assisting Palestinians in Gaza who wish to relocate to third countries, part of a broader emigration initiative advanced by Katz in coordination with the United States.

… Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has proposed an ambitious timeline for relocating up to 10,000 Gazans per day while insisting that budgetary constraints will not hinder the process.

… Critics warn the program risks crossing into forced displacement, while no third country has yet publicly agreed to absorb large numbers of refugees.

During the same cabinet session, ministers approved the formal separation of 13 West Bank neighborhoods into independent settlements, escalating tensions over Israeli policy in occupied territories.“

This seems like a great development. Folks rising up against Hamas. We’ve heard so much about how Hamas doesn’t equal Palestinians. Great to see the official break here.

Hundreds of Palestinians shouted anti-Hamas slogans at a rare protest in Gaza on Tuesday.

“Hamas out” and “Hamas terrorists” were chanted by the mostly male demonstrators in Beit Lahia as they called for an end to the war with Israel, witnesses said.

CNN reported that another message on social media appeared to call for nine anti-Hamas demonstrations across Gaza on Wednesday, while clips obtained by the network showed crowds marching through the streets of Beit Lahia chanting “We want an end to the war”, it said.

Most protests have been small, but they represent the boldest challenge to the group’s authority by Palestinians since the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel and the ensuing war.

Gosh, maybe the Israelis will stop killing them in bulk now...

Do we know that they were only going after one person, and not many, in the encampment?
It wouldn't be the first time. They bombed a hospital a few days ago (with 4 American doctors) because one member of Hamas' political wing was in the hospital. But, of course, they never release any proof for other bombings. They just bomb haphazardly and then claim that there was a reported Hamas member in the area they bombed. Same shit different day.

Speaking of hospitals, Israel executed 16 members of the ambulance crew, among other aid workers. It's kind of funny how when this all started people believed that Israel didn't bomb that hospital back then.

If trump is serious about cost reduction it is time we tell Israel...you are on your own. And if the Christian-right doesn't like it...what are they going to do? Not going to happen, of course.

Maybe that could be done eventually but not now. Not with Hamas still holding US hostages. Hamas has repeatedly talked about releasing hostages and they simply refuse to do it. The US would never punt on Israel as long as Hamas holds them.
