Israel launches attack on Iran | US bombs Iran nuke sites

We elected the crazy uncle in 2016, and re-elected the even crazier and even more senile uncle in 2024. We popularized modern democracies in 1789, yet we are very bad it. When Europe messes it up, like with Boris Johnson, their mess ups are never as bad and they fix them faster.
Perhaps, though we shouldn't forget about a couple of guys named Viktor and Adolf.

I don't understand the whole "decoy" of sending B2 bombers to Guam.

It was obvious to me that was a decoy. Wouldn't it have been obvious to Iran? Flying through Guam is ridiculously long. It doubles the flight time at least. There's no strategic benefit to it. There's no reason we would fly through the South Pacific when we could fly through NATO airspace basically all the way there.

So...Iran gives a heads-up and shoots missiles mostly unsuccessfully at a miliitary base in Qatar that has been largely abandoned now.

It's almost as if Trump gave a tell about the Iranian nuclear facility strike, and waited for Putin's thumbs up. After pausing a few days, Putin is a Go! and our missiles and B2 bombers attack 3 nuke sites, but not before personnel and enriched fissile material escaped because they were tipped off. Iran diplomats meet with Putin and the Kremlin for marching orders. There's a deal to retain the Mullahs and the nookyular program in some form, and limit Straits of Hormuz impingement.

Thus, this is mostly Trump 2.0 TV show material. Few casualties, lots of nighttime fireworks.

Companies and CEOs with billion$ at stake have chilled the oil futures and stock market. They've been tipped off as well.

Just sayin' on this Conspiracy Theory. "It makes for good TV."

I think we could have given Iran the time and location and they wouldn’t have been able to do anything about it.

Probably not but also didn't go well for us last time when our soldiers who were in bunkers suffered brain injuries.

Just headaches

That's exactly what I wondered when I heard that deploying B2s to Guam was a decoy. Guam? Really? Guam? NFW a strike would be coming from there.

It's closer than Missouri by approx 2000 miles. I think many thought the planes were being moved there as a staging area, which is probably the intent.

I'm sure there are better areas to stage them but you could argue for Guam as it's easier to protect, doesn't require input from allies, etc.

Based on publicly available satellite images, the sites were not totally or even mostly destroyed. That does not mean that the stuff stored inside wasn’t destroyed but FFS would it kill him to have an ounce of restraint?

Hahaha, yeah, rhetorical question.

Also, calling Anderson Cooper “Allison” seems to me to be a bigoted comment but I am sure few will care and a large segment will find it hilarious.

Not funny (and gives female Trump too much credit for skin care regime) but whatever.

Donna is way too hot. Needs way more wrinkles.

That does make sense. I didn’t know it was closer. I stand corrected.

The conspiracy talk suggests Trump is some master planner with an incredible level of discretion and forethought. He has none of these traits. He can't even conceal his own grift. And the idea that global oil traders are somehow in on this grand plot is equally laughable. The global oil trade's value is in the trillions.

Trump does not like the look of those satellite images, not nearly dramatic enough.
