I’m not questioning or challenging what you wrote.

I’m wondering why your friends have the most hate for and place the most blame on what is likely the weakest group in Lebanon, the Palestinians.

The NYT and CNN work hard at fact checking? They do when its trying to find something to rebut trump on but not so much when their preferred political party needs fact checking. Given the black eye your media has suffered recently on multiple occasions, I'm surprised you could type that with a straight face. And if you did and actually believe that then its probably time to for you to be sheered.

They would be able to answer better than me, but from their point of view, they don't belong in Lebanon. While that may be the fault of the Israelis, they blame much of the disaster of the past 50 years on the arrival of the refugees. They think they already had a place to go, called Jordan. I'm not saying they are right. I am just telling you they don't like many people around them, but they hate the Palestinians, not because they are weak but because they are there. They almost consider themselves European or at least Phoenician and they say their country is ruined and never coming back. The demographics have changed too much. Maybe they are wrong. Just telling you what they tell me on the golf course.

They sound like dickheads. Blaming people for "being there" when those people largely have nowhere else to reasonably be is kind of ridiculous.

It's a little more complex than that, but they might be dicks. I know they were supporters of the Guardians of the Cedars so probably not the kindest fellas. They both can putt.

Appreciate you giving us insight to a “niche” of Lebanon and the Lebanese.

Still strikes me as strange that they hate the Palestinians the most.

They’re from Zgharta - way up in Northern Lebanon…….a city that is 98-99% Christian………and they hate and blame Palestinians the most.

If Hamas, an Iranian proxy, has the patience to plan and execute O7, are you of the opinion the Iranian government has less measured reactivity? Israel is creating dozens of new Hamas acolytes, everyday. Who’s going to fund and guide those acolytes? Could Iran maybe, sorta get involved with reforming deadly terrorist cells? Yeah, probably.

Again, American’s have become completely infected with TikTok brain. If Iran hasn’t sponsored a major terrorist attack by the conclusion of the Trump regime, hell we can make it two years for sake of a clear endpoint, then maybe your chest thumping is warranted. Until then, you look like yet another myopic American with a dearth of cultural knowledge and humility. Iran doesn’t give a shit about your arbitary timeline re: “meaningful retaliation”.

Fwiw, I think there’s better than 50/50 Israel has largely decapitated Iran’s proxies, for a multi year period, which certainly nurtures Iran’s ability to respond, in the moment. And, said proxies are most effective when deliberate. This isn’t symmetrical warfare and you can’t overlay American reactive machismo culture onto cultures that measure themselves in millennia.

Fetterman has been such a huge disappointment, much like Sinema in her single miserable term as a Senator. When she was elected in 2018 I had high hopes for her, given her background and stated political beliefs. Instead she quickly sold out and left the Senate six years later far wealthier and cozier with special interest groups while having turned her back on nearly everything she previously said she supported. Fetterman seems to be going a similar route, and I could easily see him switching parties at some point if he decides to run for reelection.
