As I posted earlier, I think that about 1/3 of the Trump base are hard bigots, not 1/3 of the country. Let's call them George Wallace voters.I can't speak for anybody else but for me I see a big difference between saying that almost anyone that voted for Trump is either a hardcore or softcore racist, and that MAGA is a racist based movement.
And I think it matters because if over half the white people in the country are hardcore MAGA racists that only care about keeping brown people down and out, Democrats need to run a very different campaign than if 10% of Republicans are racist and the rest care about things like abortion or not being able to get a good job or whatever else is most important to them.
Maybe I run in different circles, but about half of the people I interact with daily are probably Republicans and I have my doubts that making sure a minority is not President or that black people can't be their boss is anywhere on their lists of issues they vote on.
2/3 of Trump supporters are soft bigots( not 2/3 of the country ) meaning that their support for Trump is not driven by his policies that attack people of color and other minority groups, but they tacitly give a nod to the spirit of his cruelty and then vote for the Trump policies that they think will fatten their wallets.
