The most patriotic thing I've ever seen.
Congrats to Trump for doing this celebration for the US Army .
A parade is the most patriotic thing you've ever seen? Jesus, that is sad. Go volunteer at a Veterans event sometime. Go and watch the changing of the guard at Arlington. Go to a Flight of Honor. There are 100 things daily just in NC that are far more patriotic than a parade.

It was "patriotic" because it owned the libs and pissed them off, so he's thrilled. And they flew the flag - all to honor a draft dodger on his birthday who has ridiculed veterans as "suckers" over and over. And it cost at least $50 million, which contradicts the whole DOGE cutting the budget and saving taxpayer money thing, but what the hell - it really pissed off liberals, so by definition it must have been good.

I haven’t seen any video yet. But just listening on the radio it seemed relatively tame. Not like the Russian parades.

I appreciated the history. The soldiers riding seemed to enjoy it. The ones marching not so much.

The army upstaged trump.

He read a mainly historic speech that was not in his voice at all nor pretty obviously not drawn from his flawed understanding of the past.

The energy of the podium was low and the honored audience there seemed mainly bored.

As poorly as the day began, with the shooting, I’m just glad that there was enough peaceful protesting AND celebrating of the armed forces to feel good about America, no matter what your political persuasion.

Fetterman: Military parade comprised of ‘the very best of us’

"
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) said that President Trump’s military parade in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, is comprised of the “best of us” and that it should be celebrated regardless of where one might stand on the political spectrum.

“This parade is comprised of our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers—the very best of us,” Fetterman wrote in a Saturday post on social media platform X. “Regardless of your politics, it’s appropriate to celebrate the 250 years of sacrifice, dedication and service.”

Fetterman demonstrated rare Democratic support for the parade that is taking place on Trump’s 79th birthday."

And that doesn't detract from a single thing I posted - the money that was wasted (what about DOGE and saving money?), that Trump is a draft dodger who has publicly and privately disparaged veterans (especially wounded ones) on numerous occasions, and that Trumpers loved the parade in large part because it pissed off liberals. And don't fool yourself - it wasn't done to celebrate "250 years of sacrifice, determination, and service" by our military - it was done to celebrate Dear Leader on his birthday. Strange how Trump chose to celebrate all this on his birthday, no? Why not Veterans Day or Memorial Day or the 4th of July?

Fetterman has fallen head first into post stroke delusional brain damage; he’s not to be trusted, by any party. That the woofie thinks conjuring his name is a gotcha, indeed, does the opposite.
The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games
And daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path

The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

LOL. You still haven't rebutted anything I wrote - the money wasted, the parade being held on his birthday instead of a more appropriate holiday, his attitude towards veterans - nothing. You can yell "TDS" all you want, but in doing so you're just proving my point - a good deal of conservative celebration and support of this parade is nothing more than OTL - Owning the Libs. "Patriotism" has little do with it, unless patriotism means supporting whatever Dear Leader does and wants.

We have a major war breaking out in the Middle East, Democratic politicians have been deliberately targeted, shot, and killed by right-wing assassins, the US Marines, National Guard, and federal agents have been deployed to a major US city against the will of state and local leaders and have attacked unarmed protestors and detained US citizens, with threats from Trump 2.0 to deploy more soldiers to occupy blue-controlled cities that dare to disagree with their policies, our nation's major universities are under direct attack from a presidential administration that is literally trying to take control of them and dictate what they can and cannot teach, numerous government agencies have been thrown into chaos because of willy-nilly budget cuts that have left them severely understaffed and underfunded, and on and on.

And what is our glorious president doing about all of this? Spending well over $50 million of taxpayer money to throw a military parade for himself on his birthday. I'm beginning to understand how Roman citizens must have felt when Nero played around while Rome burned. I know that's probably a historical myth, but the symbolism certainly fits this administration perfectly.
