This is probably just effective Russian operations in action. The whole point of Russian disinformation is to increase distrust in information and media sources in the US. They can do that very effectively by riling up both sides with the same stuff.

The difference is that these are minority views.

I have yet to talk to a MAGA who believes that the 2020 election was not stolen.

Not even in the same ballpark of crazy.
I've spoken with several maga that said that trump lost initially.

Most even thought that Jan 6th was a horrible thing, at first.

The concern is how that changed over time.

The MAGA stolen election conspiracy wasn't some fringe, online-only movement. They raided the Capital over it, wasted countless hours in courtrooms, and spent four years post-election continuing the big lie.

This would seem counterproductive and frankly, pointless.
Literally hundreds of millions of dollars were donated to Stop the Steal. Is there any successful fundraising going on currently?

We should be able to acknowledge this issue exists in some corners without it being the equivalent of the Q-Anon cult or Stop the Steal/J6 lies and attempt to overthrow an election.

And easy enough to ignore this thread entirely.

The difference is none of these people have any power. We don’t even know if they’re real people. It’s not Harris, Walz, Pelosi, Schiff, Jeffries, etc. peddling this crap. It’s not even big Dem donors. It’s random nobodies on Xitter, most of which are probably bots.
Yeah, this is just a bunch of random people that spend too much time on twitter, with some bots probably sprinkled in there too.

Let me know when Dem politicians are saying stuff like this and a bunch of democrat voters storm the capitol and try to stage a coupe. Until then, this is not even close to comparable to the way Republicans reacted to the 2020 election.

It just feeds into the Bosides bullcrap. That Randoposter12345 on Xitter said this nonsense will be used as evidence that Dems are hypocrites when we go after Trump in the mid-terms for claiming his loss of majorities in the House and Senate is due to vote stealing. Never mind that Dems don’t even believe Randoposter12345 is a real human being whereas in the other side it will be Trump himself and he mobilizes tens of thousands of people to try to overturn the results, by force if he has to.

I agree with everyone that this seems to equate, at least on some level, the MAGA conspiracy nonsense with some crazy left wing tweets. There's no relation between the two situations, primarily because the MAGA nonsense is also coming from major leaders of the right including the president elect. There have been crazy conspiracies that get floated around forever, but they don't represent a movement the way that MAGA does.

But like the OP said, the thread can easily be ignored. And given the types of tweets that make up the thread, I don't really think it will be interesting to check in on this one.

I just signed up for Blue Sky. The ONLY reason I'm still on X is for sports. It still seems to be the preferred home for leagues/teams/writers, but hopefully more will start migrating over.

Yes, I’m planning to check out Blue Sky when I have time but to date every time I try an alternative it has had serious echo chamber or other participation limits.

Right now, if you know how to use the Following tab process and are good with the search tricks on Xitter, it is still the easiest place to find the most media and sports reporting in one place. But the For You tab is garbage for sure.

We had similar responses when the GOP slouches into the crazy thread started on the IC board four years ago. And at first most of the insanity was coming from nobody loons and Q-Anon whack jobs. But over time it became part of the fabric of MAGA and consumed the GOP. Now we are about to have leaders controlling all the levers of power who adopted variations on the very conspiracy nonsense we were told to ignore back then.

I don’t see this election conspiracy stuff on the left taking hold but knowing it is out there helps recognize future pols who try to rise to power speaking in code to folks who believe this shit. Hopefully, the stupid conspiracy theories sputter out and this thread does the same.

But I remain appalled whenever I come across lingering left wing conspiracy theories about 9/11. I hope not to see that happen w/r/t this election.
I love NYC and value what she brings to the board, but I’ve never been comfortable with the maga descends into the crazy thread nor the firehose of Trump tweet thread, and now this one.

I think it’s hard to deny that the same dynamic that underpins these threads writ large nationally is what kept Trump relevant and contributed to his 2024 win.

The news is the policies being enacted, not every comment or Tweet. My own personal opinion is that I’d be a lot more comfortable if this material was not posted here.

That Elon part lmao. Literally all I'll refer to him as now. Mr. free speech is such a chump. Feel sorry for all the guys who are a basketball wife to this maga bs and revere this weirdo and trump.

He’s going to Streisand effect the shit out of the First Lady thing.

Is it possible that AI determined the outcome of the past 3 elections? And if not, what proof is there? Would it even be possible to produce proof? I understand that claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence, but considering the topic of this thread (conspiracies, if manipulation by AI can even be regarded as a conspiracy), I'm just throwing it out there...
