The rural religious voters have quite a dilemma. They don’t really want to vote for a black man, but he’s a MAGA, so it’s more tolerable, but he’s backtracking on his no abortion-no exceptions promise, but the white man running against him is a Jew, so the conundrum continues.

What’s a country-ass white man supposed to do these days?

Just like the SCOTUS nominees that were Republican presidential nominees....

Oh, yeah. If he wins then I fully expect him to quickly backtrack on his promises and push for a total, draconian abortion ban like they have in Oklahoma, Texas, Idaho, etc. Like Trump he's a born liar and anyone who believes his promises is a gullible fool.

If there is one thing that seems to be different about this year's Democrats (both at the state and national levels) it's that they are being much more aggressive and blunt on social media and television and radio ads in attacking Republicans and calling out their scams and controversial statements and behavior. A tactic which is long past due, imo. Democrats need to be hammering Republicans on their weirdness and controversial statements and actions. And if they whine and complain, then so be it.

I think the guys and gals from The Lincoln Project and The Bulwark have helped in that respect. Nobody gets down in the dirt like pre-Trump Republicans. Having them on our side the last couple of elections definitely seems to have upped our swagger with these attack ads.

Well, to be fair, Josh Stein has a much more pronounced Southern drawl today than he did growing up in Chapel Hill. None of the Steins (his parents, brother, sister, Josh) had Southern accents 40 years ago.

His accent is real. Everything about him is real; with the exception of his phony pivot on abortion the other day. He is who he appears to be, and that's not a compliment in this case.

I would offer a third option: A closeted, self- loathing gay man who was on the look-out for free sex. I did not know this factoid about Robinson before today. But this raises the possibility that he is a self-loathing, closeted gay man from the "I don't think so" level to the "99% certain" level. That he no longer seeks his thrills in video parlors strongly suggests he has found an alternative outlet for that part of him that he believes or believed is less risky. What ever that "less risky" alternative, I think it involves saying "how high" on the way up when who ever provided the alternative says, "Jump!"

Anyone want to bet that Josh Stein declines to press this issue out of a sense of simple common decency?
