It should go without saying, but Fox "News" is a cancer on our body politic and, imo, bears a lot of the responsibility for what's happened to our politics and toxic culture and deep partisan divisions. The term "Fox News Orphan" is real, and Fox has very successfully learned how to keep its viewers in a constant state of anger and outrage and keep them coming back for more. I remember even 15 or 20 years ago if there was a completely unknown liberal/radical instructor at Podunk Community College somewhere who said something that Republicans and conservatives might find offensive, Fox would be sure to find the quote and blow it out of all proportion to enrage their viewers and convince them that this was what every single Democrat believed and stood for. It's wicked, but for them it's been wildly successful beyond their greatest dreams.

Longtime 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens is resigning. In an email to staff, Owens cited an inability “to make independent decisions based on what was right for 60 Minutes.”

“Over the past months, it has…become clear that I would not be allowed to run the show as I have always run it,” Owens wrote. “To make independent decisions based on what was right for 60 Minutes, right for the audience. So, having defended this show — and what we stand for — from every angle, over time with everything I could, I am stepping aside so the show can move forward.”

Is this the first shot in all out war on liberal media? It is coming! Any ideas what form it will take. I see general harassment, libel and slander claims, fake crimes and arrests, reputation attacks, attempts at revoking FCC licenses, ….

The first shot? Where the hell have you been? The suit against 60 Minutes and the screening of the press corps apparently happened while you were playing Rip Van Winkle ( or drinking his pappy's whiskey.) :p

Pappy drank moonshine. As to old Rip Van, my tom cat and I sleep with one eye open . So yes I know of what you speak. But our “dear leader” is nearing entry into a “graveyard spiral ” to madness. And there his #1 prey is going to be the taunting liberal media.
