Mets gotta win the next two at home to keep it interesting. Can’t afford to split these.

Big Christmas just said 'hello' . . . in the 9th inning down 2 runs to tie it all up, 5-5.

Stankees getting a little more than they bargained for all of a sudden. Tied up heading into the 9th.

NYY rally to put up 2 in the 9th and CLE makes them sweat in the bottom half, but can’t answer. And the ump’s strike 3 call to the lead-off CLE hitter didn’t help. Was clearly a ball and should’ve been a walk. Big swing in momentum on a very bad call.

This team is tough. Spoiled with talent as always but this squad isn’t beating itself and has great energy.

Not unbeatable but it’ll take some magic to do it.

The Yankees haven’t been to a WS in 15 years. Payroll helps but it’s not everything.

One of my local radio stations did a piece on this last week. The myth that payroll doesn't matter is wrong. I think it was over the last 15 or 20 years, the data shows that unless you're in the top half of payroll, you don't win a WS.

I didn’t say that it doesn’t matter at all. It certainly makes a difference when it comes to making the playoffs but I’d wager more often than not the team winning the WS doesn’t have the top payroll or even a top 5 payroll.
Teams willing to spend should do better. Every owner has that option.

Add to this list Texas with the 4th highest payroll.
