Would that mean the school also must honor the contract?
Yes, isn't that how contract work?

They would probably have some kind of out clauses. This isn't new, they have plenty of collective bargaining agreements to learn from. Of course this is the NCAA, so they will probably fuck it up.

Ok, so I don't know, but I've always heard that they are. This is the first link from a google search.

Are full ride scholarships for all 4 years?

No, full ride athletic scholarships are typically one-year agreements between the college and the athlete, although some are multi-year.

Nope. They’ve been four year agreements at all major conferences for over a decade.

This doesn't sound like 4 years is guaranteed and it's from NCAA.org, which I assume is associated with the NCAA.

If a school plans to reduce or not renew a student-athlete’s aid, the school must notify the student-athlete in writing by July 1 and provide an opportunity to appeal. In most cases, coaches decide who receives a scholarship, the scholarship amount and whether it will be renewed.

Can you give me a link, because everything I'm searching disagrees with your position?

Ok, so I did find this, but it is only for the power 5 conferences: The Facts About “Guaranteed” Multi-year NCAA DI Scholarships

Exactly. The NCAA doesn’t guarantee scholarships but the major conferences do and have for a decade.
