Anecdotal, but one of my coworkers is a big Trump guy but told me "I had to vote for Stein because that Robinson guy was just too crazy."So you look at every other result and Dems dominate... And yet Trump wins comfortably
Who the hell are the trump, green, Stein, Jackson, voters????
I’ve been telling you guys for months that was going to be my ticket, and that I’m typically right down the middle for where the average North Carolina voter is. People just didn’t want to hear it. I voted for every one of those people you named above. So you look at every other result and Dems dominate... And yet Trump wins comfortably

You had a good nghit I guess HeelYeah CongratsI’ve been telling you guys for months that was going to be my ticket, and that I’m typically right down the middle for where the average North Carolina voter is. People just didn’t want to hear it. I voted for every one of those people you named above.
I think it is the opposite. The red wave that polls were calling in 2022 that didn’t materialize? It happened on the national level in 2024. The difference was Trump at the top of the ticket.I don’t think they voted for Trump. They simply did NOT vote for Harris.
Thankfully, unless elections are ended, he'll never be on the ticket againI think it is the opposite. The red wave that polls were calling in 2022 that didn’t materialize? It happened on the national level in 2024. The difference was Trump at the top of the ticket.
If Coop wants it I assume he would at least automatically get the Dem nomination Age is not on his side however-and I would hope he just "enjoys his life"So looking ahead, who do we have running for US Senate in NC. Cooper in 2026? Jackson in 2028? My guess is Stein runs for a second term as governor rather than seeking a US Senate bid.
Of course Cooper is no spring chicken. But he would likely have a good shot of winning in 2026.
Cooper would be a spring chicken in the Senate lmaoIf Coop wants it I assume he would at least automatically get the Dem nomination Age is not on his side however-and I would hope he just "enjoys his life"
YesCooper will be 69 in 2026 - not sure who else would run though for the Dems
He'd have my voteYes
69 ain't so bad and as far as I am concerned he already has the nomination wrapped up-if wants it
I have never given a candidate more than 50$ My basement for COOP FOR SENATe is $1,000He'd have my vote
Agreed. At this point, I think Cooper and Jackson are the only viable candidates, and I do think we need Jeff to wait for 2028. I agree that Josh Stein will probably run for governor.Yes

Silver lining!Thankfully, unless elections are ended, he'll never be on the ticket again
If Jackson runs for the Senate in 2026, and he resigns the AG office if he wins, the Governor names his replacement. The replacement is in office until the next General Election for the Legislature - 2028.Agreed. I’m still irritated that Jeff was asked to step aside to make room for Cheryl Beasley in the last senate race. And I say that as a black woman. We cannot lose focus again.
A night where the Dems won almost all the key statewide races (including the governor's mansion by like 20 points) is a weird night to conclude that North Carolina is bad and supports GOP candidates who believe in slavery and love the Nazis. If I am reading the results correctly and drawing the correct inferences about those results, then had the Republicans not nominated someone for governor who repeatedly espoused horrific beliefs, such as supporting slavery and proclaiming himself to be a Nazi, the GOP would have swept every statewide race in NC. Apparently in today's GOP, it's OK to actually believe slavery and Nazis were good as long as you don't proclaim those beliefs in so open of a fashion. This not the North Carolina I grew up in. Even I. Beverly Lake, Sr. didn't openly support slavery or proclaim himself a Nazi.
So the question is: how far ahead of the election cycle were Mark Robinson's beliefs? One cycle? Maybe two?
