Well, I’m out for the evening for what I’m sure will be a restless night of sleep.

Love you guys, and enjoyed the discussions the last few months. I’d suggest getting your Super Ignore ready, because this board is about to be swamped.

As the country descends into chaos over the next four years, at least we’ve got this great board to talk our way through all the terrible shit that’s coming our way.

I don't get it. Harris had all the momentum, the energy, the crowds. How the hell could she still lose? This country doesn't make any sense. I don't understand how she got less votes when you would think she would get Biden's votes, you had Pubs saying they would vote for her, and you would think new voters would be in her favor, especially young women. None of this crap makes sense.

No it isn’t, and no we won’t. Last time there were guardrails. Last go around Trump was somewhat trying and appointed decent people like Jim Mattis/Mark Esper, John Kelly, Mark Milley, etc. Those people aren’t getting jobs in this administration. He’s going to be hiring nut jobs like RFK Jr and Elon Musk to jobs they know nothing about with mandates to destroy dozens of federal agencies. The damage caused by Trump 2.0 will take decades to recover from, if we even do.
 
Well, you guys will have one less Dukie around here after tonight. No reason for me to continue investing so much of myself in this country. Which means I won’t need to discuss politics with you fine folks.
 
If everything goes sideways, then I will choose to relish the sudden disappearance of grievance from all the Trumpers around me. Right now, every problem in their lives is the fault of Democrats. It will be "fun" to watch all the moonwalking and backtracking and moving of the goalposts to defend Trump.

I’ve decided you can’t believe anything you see or hear headed into an election. Nobody really effing knows what it all means especially with the MAGA factor.

Because I don't understand how he is still super popular. His campaign this go around was even worse. Harris had all the momentum and energy. I just can't wrap my mind around why people like him unless they are just idiots, racists, and bigots that want a fascist nation.

Likewise. I certainly appreciate this forum post-IC, but once this is called out I have to check out. This country is seriously as shitty as I hoped it wasn’t, and posting about it every day won’t help me.
 
This isn't 2016 to me, I was blindsided then. I know who we are as a country now so this was to be expected, we'll get through the next four years just like we did the first four. It will suck and our country will be worse off but we'll get through it.
