Nice failed attempt at equivalency. 45 deaths as part of a 20 yr. war on terror and firing some missles = tens of thousands dead in ukraine, russia, palestine, and israel. Again, the world was a better place during trump 1.0.
Trump's fealty to Putin led to Russia's escalation in Ukraine.

You voted for a guy that doesn’t even have realistic policies.

On a side note, this is why democrats might as well have stopped catering to the moderates and implemented some left wing solutions that they could point to. Expand Medicare for all, the child tax credit, etc should have been finalized already and not used as campaign talking points.
So why wasn't it done? Maybe because it couldn't have gotten through Congress? If they could have they would have. Just campaign rhetoric.

That you cannot comprehend that the economy doesn't feel as great to many folks as it actually is leaves me confused. (It must be that, and not that you are willfully ignoring it.)
Man, I'm trying to get off the board but I'm having trouble. I'm angry and I don't have a good place to deal with it. It's hard when your support network are all angrier and more depressed than you. I'm the one who tries to keep my brothers from losing their minds.

Anyway, here's the catch: most of those people complaining about the bad economy are lying. They are doing just fine, and the way we know this is data. If people's finances were stretched thin, there would be downward pressure on consumer demand. That has not happened. The math simply does not work. It is not possible for the economic data to be as it is, and for people to be struggling. I mean, there are always people down on their luck and struggling, but it's not a big portion of the population.

If you want to know what people mean when they say they are struggling, pay attention to Todd Henderson of the University of Chicago. He was the asshole who, in 2010, went to blog about how he can't afford life. His family income was $400K a year, but you see, that doesn't go very far after a) two BMWs; b) private school tuition for kids; c) a massive loan on a fancy apartment (I have mutual acquaintances with this guy); d) a babysitter; e) eating out a few times a month and then, after all that, he only had less than a few hundred dollars a month in discretionary income.

The economic anxiety narrative has been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked. By and large, these people are not looking for a better day. They are just filled with hate.

Yeah what happens when milk and eggs are still the same price in March of next year? When rent is still astronomical? Do people still complain or does the media just say, inflation is over now because the administrations changed.
The milk and egg prices will probably be the same though rent will continue to skyrocket until we can get a hold on the corporate landlords. They have a stranglehold on rent prices in most major markets.

Nice failed attempt at equivalency. 45 deaths as part of a 20 yr. war on terror and firing some missles = tens of thousands dead in ukraine, russia, palestine, and israel. Again, the world was a better place during trump 1.0.

I'm sorry. How many troops do we have stationed in any of those places?

It was the economy all along. It is ALWAYS going to be the economy. And not the stock market. It's rent/house prices, gas prices, etc.

When those prices do not come down in the next 2 years that is ALL dems should hammer the GOP on. "Rent is too damn high" - blame them for it. Yeah it's been going up the last 6 years, but blame the party in power for not fixing it...they will then own it
The right won’t really care about that anymore. They’ll say “Prices always go up.”

Ya know, there was one good, surefire way to keep him out of the political process…
Well I tried. I voted for haley in the primary. You guys tried to shoot him twice and failed. Maybe you should spend more time practicing marksmanship rather than trying to ban guns.

Yep. There were some conservatives on here predicting violence from "the left" if Trump won, and I haven't seen anything anywhere. To the contrary, I fear that the more common response from liberals will be to simply give up on politics and quit caring altogether. I've heard that from a great many liberals, and frankly that's how I feel myself. If this is what most Americans really want - and it's clear that it is - just let them have it, and suffer the consequences. I feel terrible for minorities and poor people who are going to suffer, but given that liberals no longer have any power to stop Trumpers from doing whatever the hell they want, let them do what they want and see what happens.
That’s a very popular sentiment today.

Everyone, probably even super, understands that the economy doesn't feel great to many folks. I have yet to have a single person tell me, though, wtf they think Dems were supposed to do about that (or why they think Trump will fix it). "The economy is great" is a true statement even if it's true that the benefits of a great economy are not equally distributed. But take one wild fucking guess about which party has any desire to distribute the benefits of a great economy more equally, and then look and see if that's who people just voted for.
It doesn't feel great to many folks, but a) feelings are not reality and b) many folks < the majority of Trump voters (let alone all voters).

It's the same bullshit over and over again. It's my economic anxiety, waah waah. Prices are high waah waah and I will just conveniently not mention the big raise I got. And then liberal suckers spend months in diners in the Midwest to figure out what makes these people tick.

They have tried as hard as they possibly can to show us who they are. Trump could not have campaigned LESS on relieving economic anxiety. His entire last month of his campaign was pure hate. He even stopped talking about no taxes on tips or any of that. It was about punishment. Punish foreigners who want to do business in this country (his words). Punish the migrants because they are violently invading our towns which of course they are not. Punish the enemy within. Punish, punish, punish. Lashing out. They will pay. We will treat them as badly as they treat us (which we don't). They are sick people. Blah blah blah.

It isn't about the fucking economy and it never was. Someone posted that Trump again did best in counties that are browning. That's been the story since he showed up in 2015. It isn't a reaction to the economy. It is a reaction to multi-culturalism and pluralism.

They are obsessed with birth rates and testosterone and trans people existing and a whole bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with the economy. That's because the economy is actually fine. It's everything else they hate.

Well, the Paul Ryan types no longer have a constituency. The Republicans decided a different economic vision was needed after 40 years of Reaganomics.
Trump ran on a populist economic message in 2016, but once in office his primary economic impact was a Paul Ryan tax bill.

Republicans passing populist bills? I’ll believe it when I see it.

Like NATO? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Is NATO necessary? Without question and would not support pulling out of NATO for any reason. But NATO needs to up its game and I support trump's pushing that. We can get more out of NATO than we do. Do I think trump is serious about his comments regarding pulling out or not supporting NATO? Not at all. The republican party would never support that. It's nothing but trump sabre rattling to get NATO to do more.
If you know Trump is just saber rattling, why don't the Europeans? Why would NATO do more because an idiot blustered?

Again, you want to have it both ways, and you can't. If you support Trump, you are not supporting NATO. They are irreconcilable positions. Trump even bragged recently that he told a NATO country he wouldn't protect them from Russian aggression. Is that saber rattling? Was he just saying that for shits and giggles?

The problem, as always, is that you think you know how the world works and you don't. Your comment about saber ratting to NATO is but one of many examples. Hey, here's an idea. Read about how things actually happen. Talk to people who actually do these things for a living. It's amazing how you guys think. If you want to know what's wrong with your air conditioning unit, you call the AC repair guy and he fixes it and you don't try to tell him how to do it. But for some reason, you think international diplomacy is just child's play and the people who do it are idiots and evil schemers, when you haven't the first idea what they actually do.
