I’d still get rid of it. At least in its current form. If there’s a filibuster at all it should have to be a speaking filibuster. No e-mailing that you’re filibustering. Your ass must be on the floor of the Senate engaging in substantive debate (no phone book reading).
This. Trump and the GOP should have the ability to demonstrate exactly how terrible they are and how their ideas will play out in practice.

Probably worth at least preserving the possibility of a speaking filibuster in case of emergencies, like the Republicans trying to raise the president's salary to $10B a year.

If you look at what trump inherited from Obama, and what he did with it before he handed it to Biden, and what the world is like today, I'll take Obama and Biden every, single, time. In trump's last year, US GDP dropped 2.2%. US GDP in 2023 was the highest of any G7 country. While trump was in office, the US was setting up refrigerator trucks and digging mass graves to bury all the people who died from Covid. Unemployment spiked at 14.8%. People couldn't work, the economy was in free fall, and nobody could buy toilet paper. Ah, the good ol' days of donald trump.
Yes I know joe would have done so much better with a pandemic that nobody knew anything about. Could you have imagined how long it would have taken biden to get the vaccine produced. We might still be waiting on it.

either filibuster or no filibuster (regardless of form)? yes or no

It's comical you think the vaccine timeline was impacted in any way by Trump (positively or negatively).

Personally I have a hard time But since the Pubs ignored 60 votes with SCOTUS-why not
Reid was the first to ignore it. That set the precedent. It to me is sacred. To much damage can be done and it just creates further divide. Its there for a reason and imo that reason is very sound and forward thinking. I am very grateful to Sinema and Manchin. If you are that worried about trump I can't see how you would be in favor of him passing anything on a simple majority.

Sounds like you want things to go as badly as they can just so you can say i told you so.

You're being silly. Again, you won the election. No need to spin.

This seems like an insane amount of money to be raised and spent by one candidate, for one race, in just a few months

Kamala Harris raised more than $1 billion for her campaign. She's still sending persistent appeals to donors after defeat.

Hell, I’m good with phone book reading.

But, if you’re filibustering, some senator has to be in the Senate chamber 24/7.

Just found this regarding vote suppression. Take it for what it's worth. Please disregard if already posted.

3 million fewer votes chose orangeturd compared to 2020
15 fucking million fewer votes chose Kamala as compared to Biden
Thats what I just heard So like 15 million Dems stayed home more or less
Just an update, since this came up in a recent conversation with my MAGA mom..... Kamala is now up to 74,935,796 votes and still counting. Biden ended at 81.2 million.

Best I can tell, Pubs have a 53-47 majority in the Senate.

Pubs also have a 220-215 majority in the House.

This is all on you, Pubs. Make us great again, or you're a bunch of fucking liars.
