I find it interesting that when Trump and MAGA lost or challenged, mainstream media was called "fake news." Now the Dems git crushed across the board and everyone is blaming the media.

I know, I know, any firm of not towing one side party line is "bo-siding" but I am just stating the obvious here.

The next line of rebuke is the "false equivalency." Yes I know, nobody has posted the media is the enemy of the people here. But goodness, it's only been a month or so of media scapegoating so far.
Well your media did mislead you so you can decide if they are your enemy or not.

Is Trump still not going to collect taxes on overtime on people who collect over 100,000 dollars a year in overtime?

I hope not. I can't get overtime in my job as a public school teacher, but I am good with other folks working their tail off and not getting taxed after the first 40 hours. I think this policy might make the country even more productive. I remember growing up, my dad worked shift work and was always giving away his overtime. He would often say "the more I make the more they take" he didn't feel like it was worth his time to go much past 40 hours due to the taxes. Of course he sometimes did, but often let others have it of they wanted it. Let folks have hours 41 and beyond at 100%. I think its fair. No reason to tax tips either. Let people keep it in their pocket.

I'm not terribly opposed to the concept but I am seriously opposed to these people and people like them being rewarded. You see reports of stuff like this in city and state agencies all over but I can't find much I can trust. Seems like people are really hesitant to talk about it.

What you guys don’t understand is that nobody outside of your bubble mates takes your name calling seriously anymore.
Literally all the world's experts on authoritarianism have described Trump that way. Well, almost all. I don't know every single one. Is John Kelly in my media bubble? What about all the other people who worked for Trump and say that he's an authoritarian and a fascist? Why does Trump always make a point of talking about how much he loves authoritarians? If Trump is not a fascist, why does he talk longingly about Xi who rules China with an iron fist? Is he just lying to you? If so, why does he think you will respond positively?

The media bubble is you, dude. I don't even consume all that much media. When I can, I go to the primary source. I know, that's foreign to you. I never watch TV news. Never in my life.

I can't wait for you to get your comeuppance. Your side declared war on people like me. When the shit hits the fan and you're out of a job and prices are going up by 15-20% a year and the Pubs have cut the safety net and you have no unemployment benefits or health insurance, I will have zero sympathy for you. I would rather laugh in your face.

And then Dem politicians, who are less spiteful than I have become, will come in and offer to fix it for you despite everything you've done. When the shit hits the fan, as it did in 08, plenty of you people will vote for Dems because you need to. And then, when the crisis is solved, you'll be back where you are now. We've done this before, too many times.

I think this time they have buyers for the country.

It’s what I call the bumper sticker messaging. Republicans are great at it.
Drill baby drill
Kamala’s for they/them; trumps for you

When you have no policy and aren’t bothered by the truth, messaging gets a lot easier.

Dems have to find a way to boil the policies down to just a few words. Once they’ve done that- repeat them ad-nauseam.
Democrats used to be great at boiling down their ideas to very simple and direct messages: FDR & The New Deal, JFK & The New Frontier, LBJ & The Great Society, etc. Part of FDR's political genius was his ability in his radio fireside chats to take complex ideas and programs and break them down to simple messaging. When he described the Lend-Lease program to Britain in a fireside chat, he explained it by saying that if your neighbor's house caught on fire and you had a hose that they could use to put out the fire, wouldn't it make sense to lend them the hose so they could put out the fire before it reached your house? Democrats were once masters of messaging to the masses, but not so much recently.

In related news, FDR was operating in an environment where black people largely couldn't vote; there were few non-white people other than them; and women were not expected to have careers in most cases.

As much good as FDR did, he was still the leader of the party that maintained a base of support in the Solid South.

And isn't what you're ascribing to FDR (which I've not heard but I'll trust you) basically what Tim Walz meant by "one man's socialism is another man's neighborliness"?

3 million fewer votes chose orangeturd compared to 2020
15 fucking million fewer votes chose Kamala as compared to Biden
Thats what I just heard So like 15 million Dems stayed home more or less
This is an anomaly and needs to be investigated as such. Contrary to the media election reporting, Trump failed to pick up more votes this election.

For what reason do you think someone's income should not be taxed? You do realize that there are PLENTY of us who are business owners that work hours that dwarf 40 a week, right? Should we also be able to delineate the portion of our income attributed to anything above 40 hours? And why should tips be untaxed? That's their income. Why should being a service worker automatically make someone tax exempt?

How is it almost a match of 2020's voter turnout if they both got less this year than in 2020 (much less in Kamala's case)? Or maybe they're saying 10+ million less is still "almost" a match?
Yeah I am 100% confused by what he's saying. Thankfully I removed twitter with this election so I am free from that shit

Yes

GQPers are very good at messaging
Dems are horrible at messaging

GQPers are horrible at governing
Dems are very good at governing

Unfortunately, we live in a country that values messaging over governing...
I’ll take it further - the republicans see their primary job as getting elected. Governing is just a side hustle.
Democrats, correctly, view the job as governing. Obviously, they can’t do that if they don’t get elected. But it’s tough to do that when the other side thinks about what can they do to get (re)elected 365 days a year.

I am enjoying a warm secure feeling already! Our great leader promises....
To build a new missile defense shield with help from former NFL player Herschel Walker !! :)

There were roughly 155.5 million votes cast in 2020.

Nate Cohn is projecting there will be 157.5 million votes cast in 2024.

So he is projecting that Trump will ultimately get more than he got in 2020 and that Harris will get much closer to Biden's total from 2020 when all the votes are finally counted.
