That's more of a hope.... admittedly a long shot that would involve a 3rd party candidate getting 5% of the popular vote, which would result in receiving federal election funds and begin a series of events which ends with the Libertarian party being in contention. At this point, my unwillingness to vote for an R or D candidate is more on principle than anything. I'm tired of voting for a subpar candidate as the "lesser of two evils". I want to vote FOR someone. Neither party, IMO, seems to want to offer much to vote for. Had Dems replaced Biden with a quality candidate, I don't think the race is close right now.
Yeah, you’re right, it’s a definite shame that the Democrats did not replace Biden with someone who then raised more money than any candidate has ever raised, has turned out a grassroots movement larger than any candidate has ever enjoyed and has inspired voter registration and participation from groups that previously had a little to none. If only those dastardly, bumbling Democrats could have replaced Biden with someone who could have done better!

Not sure we're talking about the same thing. This is a proposal Harris has made; none of these loans have happened yet.
Sorry, yes I was referring to those that Biden was trying to forgive.

I'll have to read Harris' proposal.

I understand not wanting to vote for either, I did this in 2016.

But ultimately, if you vote third party, then you really help the eventual winner.

In 2016, I've read that the third party votes in the right precincts could have changed the final outcome.

So if Trump wins, those who voted third party shouldn't say anything.

I completely agree with not wanting the lesser of two evils, I just don't see this election as that. I did when I voted Biden, but in hindsight it was the best decision.

Didn't you state in another thread that you would vote against trump by voting for Harris?

Yeah, but you are leaving out the fact that she needed almost 3 months to do that. A quality candidate could have done that in 3 days...

I disagree. I don't recall trump raising that kind of money in three days.

It seems like your argument for voting third party has a little flavor of letting perfection be the enemy of progress.

There's never been a candidate in my life that I aligned with 100%. I really don't see how that is possible.

One can still be enthusiastic about a candidate where there is a high level of alignment.

So, @ZenMode i ask what would make you enthusiastic about a candidate?

He's acting like a child who wants to live in a fantasy world. Needs to be an adult and live in the real world.

The person she should have picked as VP, I think, would have been a much better option: Josh Shapiro.

I think Joe Manchin would have been a better option than Harris.

I didn't give it much thought because Harris was put in place so quickly, but I can't believe there aren't several better options.

So, you’d vote for Kamala Harris if Josh Shapiro was her running mate?
