Eliminating vaccine mandates in schools is still a pretty fucking terrible idea, especially ones like the polio vaccine, and will almost certainly lead to more deaths in the future, and perhaps a lot more than just hundreds. I've read that there were, on average, around 16,000 cases of polio each year in the USA until the polio vaccine was introduced. In 1952 in New York City alone a polio outbreak caused 3,145 deaths and 21,269 cases of paralysis. It's insane to eliminate most vaccine mandates in schools, but given that we already shrug off mass school shootings so that yokels can play macho alpha male with their pew pew pews, I guess having kids go back to iron lungs will just be written off as the price we all have to pay for parental rights and "freedoms" from medical experts and their awful vaccine mandates.
I believe your number of polio cases per year for nation is way low. I grew up in small town and personally remember numerous cases and some deaths. Actually the next sentence sort of contradicts the 16000 cases for nation. Just a thought…no facts.

Y’all have to remember that trump’s creek runs shallow. Having handpicked idiots piss in it will not do much to rise its level. Going to be a very long four years.

Kennedy says he’s ‘all for’ polio vaccine as GOP senators raise questions about his views

Okay, Trump says people can still get the polio vaccine, but when asked about the requirement to having the vaccine to attend school, said he isn’t big on mandates. That is a big deal.

In your Kennedy article, he also doesn’t address whether the requirement to have the polio vaccine to attend school will stay.
Even more concerning, said he is a supporter of that ONE vaccine. So, measles, mumps, rubella, whooping coughs, etc. are fair game? He need to “look at the science behind,” these vaccines?

It’s crazy that these vaccines are even being discussed in this way. Having legitimate concerns that the head of the HHS will tamper in any way with these vaccines is insanity.

And when you ask dumb shit Trump about it, all that feeble-brained moron can say is, “There are a lot of smart people looking at it,” like some moron 5th grader giving an oral report on a book he didn’t read.

I agree. It would be ludicrous to not require several vaccines/immunizations to attend public schools but, as of now, that is decided by the states, not federal government and I don't see that changing.

Walking pneumonia runs on a 7 year global cycle and we are at a peak.
this tracks. in late oct / early nov my mom was really sick for 2+ weeks right after returning from a trip to the netherlands and denmark and walking pneumonia was one of the culprits.

Link: History of Polio: Outbreaks and Vaccine Timeline

Line from linked article, from the Mayo Clinic, in reference to the year 1955, from the Mayo Clinic: "About 16,000 cases of polio (paralytic poliomyelitis) occurred each year in the U.S. in the 20th century compared with none in 2020."

Living in the era It was not as serious as I remember, I suppose. Mostly hype. Anyway, anyone think RFKJR would object to a vaccine for gun shots?
