Its bad enough that Trump is going to meet a war criminal. But to meet him in the United States? Outrage.

Isn't Putin supposed to be arrested?

“…
“Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier,” Mr. Zelensky said in a video addressfrom his office in Kyiv, several hours after Mr. Trump’s remarks, which appeared to overlook Ukraine’s role in the negotiations.

“Any decisions made against us, any decisions made without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace,” Mr. Zelensky said. “They will bring nothing. These are dead decisions; they will never work.”…”

Kind of like 1945............we are waiting to see how much territory Russia will get after a war based on post war negotiations between US and Russia.
One big difference - in 1945 the Soviet Union occupied the territory it took and it had the world’s largest army; a battle-tested army, on that land.

The Soviets had wanted the “honor” of taking and destroying Berlin and Ike and most of the Western Allied leadership were willing to let the Soviets have that bloody “honor.”

Plus, the US wanted the Soviets to fight the massive Japanese army in Manchuria and as a threat for the land invasion of Japan.

The eastern half of Ukraine in 2025 is just a sell-out.

Trump’s already sold out the desperate people of Ukraine multiple times. I suspect he’ll sell them down the river with finality this time. If Ukraine doesn’t capitulate to Putin’s unbelievably bad faith imperialist demands and promises of peace, Trump will blame Ukraine and may begin actively supporting Russia, as oppose to secondarily by restricting ukraines promised military support.

The US had about 250k dead in the European theatre in WWII. Russia lost 90k dead in the 2 weeks it took to take Berlin. They had nearly 380k casualties.
