He wanted to talk about security guarantees (which supposedly were to follow after the minerals agreement). Trump only wanted to talk about looting the country's mineral reserves (which has never actually been on the table, except for a silly MOU that would bind nobody).

This is the second time Trunp tried to shake Ukraine down for weapons. In Trump 1 Congress apporved weapons and Trump tried to shake down Ukrirase with a q quid pro quo, for which he rightly got impeached.
