I’m too old to start a revolution, but if China were to invade the U.S. tomorrow I’d probably fight on their side.

I think the world knows that Trump is an anomaly and not a reflection of the US government going forward.

Possibly, but trade networks and supply chains are being restructured as we speak that are going to be very expensive to undo. The damage is lasting.

And it's true that there are a lot of racists and fucking idiots in America. If you don't realize that, you're one of the latter.

That's not the impression I'm getting. They seem to be preparing for thus to be the new normal for US leadership.
The Trump portion of my post wasn't supposed to be there. It was something from yesterday that I didn't notice. Disregard.

I was responding to the claims of misogyny, racism etc.

62 first cousins…dang. I have 27 and I thought that was a lot. Most live in or around Rockingham and Darlington SC.
I have 35 first cousins (or had….some have passed away as I am 70 and I am the second youngest of the extended litters.) Most still live in Union and Cabarrus counties with a few (or their kids/grandkids) scattered hither and yon.

Local officials from Russia’s ruling party have caused controversy by presenting mothers of soldiers killed in Ukraine with gifts of meat grinders, an appliance widely used to describe Russia’s brutal tactics on the frontline.

The United Russia party in the northern Murmansk region posted photos on social media showing officials smiling as they visited bereaved mothers with gifts of flowers and boxed meat grinders for International Women’s Day on Saturday, which is widely celebrated in Russia.

Aside from Musk having so much amassed power, it is insane that the richest person in the world, US government official and most influential advisor to the POTUS is debating vitally important issues on social media like a 15-year-old … “I literally challenged Putin to one on one physical combat over Ukraine” is disgustingly unserious.

Fair points.

That said, the current arming of Ukraine -- at least in degree -- is unprecedented for America. Given that, it is hard to say what any former American president would have done if that person could have been transported to 2022. I suspect the policy would have mirrored Biden's but maybe Reagan would be a little more cowboyish.
I've been paying close attention since the Carter years. The President that would have seen the Ukraine danger the quickest and done the most would have been Bush the father. He would have handled it exactly the same as Biden, except he would have flooded Ukraine with weapons. Wouldn't have been a wussy about it. He knew how to handle the Russians.

Now, for most of his Presidency George W. Bush listened to Dick Cheney. So what would he have pushed for?

Reagan in the 80's had a different situation so he would have tempered his response. But Reagan today, with a weaker Russia then he had to deal with might be pretty cowboyish in response. Plus, I don't ever remember a case where Reagan turned his back on a people who were actually resisting and fighting.
