Who actually wants the US to be involved in the peace negotiations, other than Putin perhaps. Like, is this a threat or an inducement?

I think keeping the line open with Trump allows Zelenskyy to occasionally land benefits of the “last person trump talked to” phenomenon. Trump is a Russian asset, not just a sympathizer, IMO, that said, his narcissism overrides any other motivator/alliance. I think it’s likely Zelenskyy is slowing Trump fully supporting Russia’s invasion, by occasionally lavishing him with compliments and inducements (ie the mythical minerals deal).Who actually wants the US to be involved in the peace negotiations, other than Putin perhaps. The Ukraine government. They arrested opposition politicians on treason charges. They arrested priests on collaborationism charges. They arrested a journalist for justifying the invasion of Crimea. I suspect they can find a charge or two to arrest a few hard right politicians.Say what? Who would arrest them? On what charges?
