Word is that Trump contacted his buddy Victor Orban and asked Orban to support Ukrainian efforts to join the EU.

If legitimate, I’d give Trump credit for this. But at the moment it seems like some sort of subterfuge.

Would be an interesting result. The other EU members not in NATO to date have not been in NATO of their own accord (because of their neutrality requirements). Two of those (Finland and Sweden) changed their minds about that because of Russian aggression in Ukraine and elsewhere, leaving Malta, Ireland, Austria and Cyprus, I think. Maybe Cyprus is closest to what an Ukraine EU/No NATO model would be (?)

[There are six or seven European countries in NATO but not the EU, though several of those have EU membership applications pending]

No one should jump to conclusions but this certainly would be a massive provocation if it was a Russian drone and was also intentional.

“… they [Ukraine] should of been clear that the want to maintain a friendly relationship with Russia, that they’re not posing a threat to Russia and that they would never let Europeans or Americans pose a threat to Russia.

Russia feels uh threatened by a lot of things, including the internal domestic affairs of Ukraine, so uh eastern Ukraine, the Donbas … are heavily Russian speaking, they wanna maintain Russian culture and a friendly relationship of mine from there said hey it’s a lot like maybe for an American if you think of Quebec maybe they want to speak French, they want this French culture and heritage recognized, their content to be part of Canada but uh until you come in and say well you can’t speak French anymore and we’re not gonna recognize that and we’re gonna purge every reference to what you view as your culture, that’s the kinda of things that were going on in the internal affairs of Ukraine that Russia continued to try to address with Ukraine.

That’s not an excuse for the invasion or war uh but you know there was no diplomacy that was de—escalatory, in fact everything was escalatory. And so look if you go back to uh uh you know maybe maybe some days in uh imagine a bar everybody might be a little loud and mouthy until the defensive end guy stands up and he’s you know six-five about 280 and clearly really fit and every time I e even that happen somebody gets really diplomatic really quick and I think that’s what President Trump’s talking about. You didn’t give enough weight to diplomacy.”

The Ukrainian Constitution has Ukrainian as the official language but guarantees right to use other languages. But Ukraine did designate Ukrainian as the sole language for public education. Davidson is spouting a lot of Russian propaganda in this interview.

I would definitely give credit for that. It's precisely the kind of diplomacy we should be involved in.

Good Lord. I sincerely hope that Trump did not agree to that or even propose it to Zelensky.

What are you talking about? I rewatched the segment and admitted I made a mistake about who made the comment.
I was right earlier in this thread....as bas as the "350M in jeans sold in a day" was Ram has topped himself. Tripling down AFTER video evidence caught him in a lie.
