And we end with a "Real Housewives" parody where the most memorable part was the fajitas.

Overall, a decent show, but not a terribly great one.

Oh no, Jelly Roll is back and I don't need any snacks.
Well baby, baby wants a gold diamond ring
Wants it more than most any old thing
Well when I get those jelly roll blues
Why I'd go and get anything in this world for you.

Yeah, I thought it was an odd choice of a relatively low-profile host and a pretty uneven season premier to be honest. The cold open had some good moments (especially from Maya Rudolph) but was too long. Weekend Update was the highlight - in midseason form already - but honestly I thought some of the earlier sketches (usually the best) were disappointing. My favorite sketch was the one where Jean played a romance novelist hired to write word problems for a math textbook; she seemed in her element on that one.
Weekend Update is always money. I enjoyed the Blonde Dragon People skit as well.

The problem with Dana Carvey is that he's always just Dana Carvey doing a character rather than actually trying to become the character.

Not my favorite casting choice of this season.

Maybe my expectations were too high after Nate Bargatze’s first hosting gig, but I thought his show was relatively lackluster last night. Even the monologue which is basically just his standup wasn’t totally landing.

Update was solid, George Washington part 2 was solid, but not a lot for me outside of that. I was fired up to see a Lonely Island digital short but thought Sushi Glory Hole was mostly a miss too.

Watched more of the 90 minutes this weekend than we usually do. And laughed a lot. The golf skit was very funny. Weekend Update was good except for the chick at the end. I'd say over half of those fall flat. The Sabado Gigante was pretty funny too.

I am not a huge SNL guy but this past one was well done. The Golf skit, Washingtons crossing and The Mexican gameshow were pretty dang funny. Watch a real Mexican game show and the parody was spot on

Haven't watched the rest of it so far but the opening skit last night was probably the funniest I can recall since the Matt Damon as Brett Kavanaugh opener several years ago (pretty sure that was the opening skit that episode).

My favorite line from the clips I saw (Weekend Update, Cold Open and cookies) was comparing Bret Baier to a businessman created on Minecraft.
