I pulled the trigger on a Roth conversion for a chunk of my wife's IRA this morning.
I have been navigating making a full conversion of my rollover IRA to my Roth IRA without busting my tax bracket or triggering IRMAA.

I have made 100k conversions in each of the last two years. Because those conversions will kick in for IRMAA next year and the year after I'm scaling back to 50k conversions.

I'm not a CPA so it takes me hours upon hours to figure out this Rube Goldberg tax system of ours

I am a CPA and it's still a bitch to do; figuring out income from pass throughs, etc. My wife retired this year and I was trying to keep our MAGI low enough to let her do one last Roth contribution . I finally just did a moderate amount of conversion and I'll let the IRA contribution fall where it will before filing.

I'm wondering how HY and our other GQPer board members are feeling about their investments and retirement accounts in this unveiling of the Trump economy :poop:

I need some advice...

The Mega Millions lottery pot is 1.1 billion dollars which is finally large enough for me to purchase a few $2 picks.
The drawing is tomorrow night and the odds of winning are 1/300 million.

I have never bought a lottery ticket, but if someone is destined to win tomorrow, I cannot think anyone is more deserving than me.

So when my number is drawn tomorrow night, should I take the lump sum and pay the huge tax ?
How should I invest my winnings ?

I have already set aside a one million dollar bet on 11 black at the Bellagio, but I'm not sure how to "invest" the rest.

I'm thinking I will give each member of this board a gift of one million dollars, but that means I will still have a few hundred million to invest.

Please give me some investment ideas:D

The longest trip I make these days is to Cary every 6 months to see my dentist.

If I house my Gulfstream at Horace Williams Airport and fly into RDU, I would still need to rent a limo to get me to my dentist office.

I think the better idea is to buy a stretch limo with a chauffeur and hire 3 UNC Soph coeds to cuddle with me in the back while we drink a bottle of Dom Perignon

May be a market top. Direxion just started a bull and bear 2.0x leveraged single stock etf for Berkshire Hathaway BRK.B
Wonder what Warren B thinks? The bull version is BRKU

also new from Granite Shares and Dirextion. 2.0X bull for
Crowdstrike CRWL
Berkshire Hathaway BRKU
Broadcom AVL
Palantir PLTU
Taiwan Semiconductor TSMU

These can be very useful short-term trading vehicles but caveat emptor especially near market highs. But can be great if you get them following a 20% market downturn as in 2022
