Was doing my 2024 retrospective last week. Portfolio did really well...34% gain for the year. It's basically a mix of SP500 and some stocks focused on Google, Microsoft, Apple, Costco, Visa, Nvidia, EliLilly, Meta and Amazon. And that was with taking a gain in late November (still feel a correction will come at some point....P/E ratios are really high right now).

If you put money in trump’s new meme coin last night before you went to bed then you likely woke up having outperformed the sp 500 since 1980 (assuming a fairly normal bedtime and wake up time in the eastern US). Some shady stuff going on. (Yes, by no means would that have been an investment. Just gambling but I thought the performance vs sp 500 made it relevant).

Not sure if it’s so much shady stuff as much as there are several metric tons of idiots who will throw money away to worship at the altar of Trump.

Was it even possible to buy for retail traders? Ive seen people mention it couldn’t be purchased on Coinbase or Robinhood.

Evidently there was a link on truth and later x that would take you to the $trump page where you could simply buy with a credit card.

I’m not sure how easy it would be to get the money back out but I assume it’s held in a sol wallet. I’m not sure a lot of people that bought that would be able to figure out how to get the money back out easily. You are correct, you could not swap it back into sol on Coinbase.

I know next to nothing about the crypto world. Will they be able to make the coin available on retail exchanges when exit liquidity is required?
