I didn't watch the Super Bowl. Never do. My wife and I watched 'Silo' instead.

I do have to admit that when I learn that MAGA are upset by something I tend to see that thing as favorable and worthy of learning about.

The boys (not going to call them men since they were supposed to be high schoolers) were portrayed as idiotic, bigoted, and terrible at the one thing that they cared about which is football. That's just a bad message for high school boys. Can you imagine if there was an ad for ballet lessons that essentially featured some high school dudes just humiliating a bunch of girls for no reason and implying that they aren't good at anything?
It’s a spoof of the 80s bullying jock trope from movies (and tv) like Revenge of the Nerds, Teen Wolf, The Breakfast Club, and others.

Did you seriously miss all the 80s references?

Good grief, you got so triggered seeing some guys be the bad guys that you missed all the context that made it funny.

"America is healing"

I keep seeing maga say this about last night.. And then I see it here. They really are in a cult... Must say the same phrases etc

Taylor booed by all eagle fans???? SHOCKING. Booed by the MAGA chief fans? Shocking!!!!

That they think America is in a good place is why they think they have a fucking mandate

Equality in football doesn't exist. It is a meritocracy. The best most physically talented get to play and get to win. If there was a woman out there who could throw the ball better than Pat Mahomes she would be signed and compensated as such because teams want to win above all else. There isn't. Instead of celebrating excellence, some want to water the game down so that everyone gets a trophy. I personally don't want the NFL to devolve into flag football in 15 years and that seems to be the direction they are moving towards. Gaslighting us into believing that girls are better than boys at football isn't going to work. That's not reality - it is delusion and we are not stupid.
The point of the commercial was for girls to have their own flag football leagues to play in, not for them to compete against boys. The rest of the commercial was just a lighthearted "girl power" motif to set that up. Watching you get so upset about it is laughable.

No, I like seeing dumb stuff called out for what it is.

99% of girls who try to play for their team's varsity football team would risk being seriously injured if they ever saw a snap in a real game. If you want to push flag football for girls, you can do it in a way that celebrates the girls playing it instead of resorting to "boys are stupid

That already exists.

Probably quite a few. Usher reached a lot more people than Lamar did or Aldean would. Katy Perry did, Dr. Dre did, Beyonce did, I'm sure Madonna did, hell even Drake would. Even if people aren't huge fans of those musicians, their songs are on the radio all of the time so people at least know them. I don't think anyone outside of Lamar's fanbase really knows his songs.
All of those were good. So who else?

Next year, who would you want yo see?

Man, you'd think that the organizers of the Superbowl would have picked a halftime act that would have resonated with more than 13% of the country. How many black people do you think would like a Jason Aldean halftime show?
What percentage of the country likes football?

It's not like the super bowl has 100% viewership.

For many shows 13% is great. What were last years numbers for the half time show?

They are trying to promote it to be more prevalent. Could you guys be any more pedantic about this?
Did y’all watch the commercial? They were asking for female flag football as a varsity sport in all 50 states. No mention of flag football for everyone.

The commercial was about starting youth girls flag football leagues, not affirmative-actioning girls into playing regular football against boys or turning the NFL into flag football. Did you even see the commercial? How are you misinterpreting it this badly lol.
It was the same ridiculous, boys are dumb and inferior trope that has been played out for a while now. You can build someone up without unfairly putting another group down.

I'm a 60 year-old white dude and thought the halftime show was exactly what it is supposed to be - a big production and if there's a little edge to it, all the better. I actually like getting some exposure to music I don't normally listen to but my kids do, then they can explain it to me.

If Jason Aldean was doing a halftime show, I'm turning the channel.
