If that was the American dream was about Walmart wouldn't have abandoned it's "Made in the USA" ad campaign in the 1990s and filled their aisles with cheap shit from China. The American dream is unbridled consumerism fed by the cocaine high of capitalists; if it wasn't the jobs would have never left in the first place.

I rushed to buy a slightly used (under 20K miles) Toyota RAV4 prime from CarMax last week before tariffs hit. Price was under $40K. A new one is/was upper $40s to low 50s BEFORE tariffs. That car will be over $60K and slightly used one’s upper 40s-50K soon. It’s insanity!
