I have been eating Yankee food every Thanksgiving ? Eating pumpkin pie was( is ? ) a woke dessert to oppose slavery ?Forgotten Culture War Moments: "Each time I serve pumpkin pie, I get to share a little known slice of American history. Although meant to unify people, the 19th-century campaign to make Thanksgiving a permanent holiday was seen by prominent Southerners as a culture war. They considered it a Northern holiday intended to force New England values on the rest of the country. To them, pumpkin pie, a Yankee food, was a deviously sweet symbol of anti-slavery sentiment."

I know that lots of people in different parts of the world do it. There is no reason to do it. It accomplishes nothing from a "cleaning" perspective. And increases the risk that you will spread germs for no reason. If people are putting some on the poultry as a marinade for flavor, or to tenderize, then sure, have at it. But there is no need whatsoever to "clean" poultry that you buy from a grocery store.
Raw meat is supposed to smell "raw." I don't even know what that means. You should usually pat your poultry dry when you get it out, but not 'clean" it in any way.
I’ll give it 50/50. Fast food and overly processed food with some added B.S. to the processing (the stuff that is banned in other, more intelligent countries) PLUS the sedentary life = our weight and health issues.Processed foods almost certainly play a role but I'm fairly confident that our sedentary lifestyles play the biggest role.
Sure. But given that there is literally no reason to rinse it at all, why take even a tiny risk?In any case, not hard to rinse something and not contaminate the entire kitchen

I love butternut squash. But I also don’t ruin sweet potatoes with marshmallow fluff. Fresh baked sweet potatoes with butter are delicious — I usually bake them and use them to make sweet potatoes soufflé…Butternut squash fans? Fuck a sweet potato casserole. We’re not doing the cloyingly sweet thing with marshmallow fluff here. Good old fashioned savory mashed butternut squash. A full stick of butter and a healthy dose of salt and pepper. Heaven on a plate.
Ok, I’m intrigued by the sweet potato soufflé. I’d like to give that a try.I love butternut squash. But I also don’t ruin sweet potatoes with marshmallow fluff. Fresh baked sweet potatoes with butter are delicious — I usually bake them and use them to make sweet potatoes soufflé…
