A business decision huh? Like a business decision that Nexstar needs FCC approval for its TEGNA merger and Trump wasn’t going to give that approval until Nexstar kicked Jimmy off the air? That kind of business decision?

Yeah, it’s a business decision the same way it’s a business decision for the shop owner to acquiesce to paying the mobster for “protection” when he stops by the day after the shop owner’s shop got its windows smashed in and vandalized, and two days after the mobster previously stopped by and told the shop owner he should pay for protection because it can be rough neighborhood.

I'd say boycott the advertisers, but I assume late night advertisers are more of the "As seen on TV" quality product at this point in the broadcast structure.

A broader movement might crop up in the next few days with more info.

Would be nice for entertainers, etc. associated with Disney and ABC to go on strike.

It's harder with union contracts etc. Wildcat strikes really hurt with bargaining.

They could starve Disney of morning show appearances, but that is the problem, with conglomerates. Actors in Disney movies/ shows who have contracts that mandate promotion, can be ordered to do Good Morning America or whatever it is on ABC. I mean i suppose they could say the bare minimum like "this is the movie I was in. it opens on this date" and sit there for 7 minutes. That would be entertaining for me.

So just to be clear you have zero problem with the Trump admin threatening baseless FCC enforcement action against Kimmel/ABC to coerce ABC into taking him off the air?

Can you remind me about the time a Dem administration threatened enforcement action against a broadcaster for saying things the administration didn’t like?

It’s virtually impossible to lose an FCC license. It was just K working the refs.
