I don't know what's weird about working to ensure some level of competitive fairness in public schools/universities, but ok.
EDIT: Why does Title IX exist? Fairness, right? If there was a single governing body over the NBA and WNBA, would you support the government forcing that organization to have equality (number of teams, number of players, pay, etc) between the NBA and WNBA, despite the fact that the interest in the WNBA pales in comparison?
I would hope you wouldn't support the government forcing a private business into that kind of equality.
Let's say Imane was born with female genitalia and, because of that, was assigned female on the birth certificate. That's how it works at any hospital around the world, right? The doctor looks at the genitals because that's really the only characteristic at the time of birth that can be used to say M or F.
Why is that early, single characteristic label assumed to be correct, particularly in the face of significant evidence that shows she is likely actually a male?
