Anybody watching webcams? Lots of Darwin Award candidates at the southernmost point in Key West.

How far inland have the tornadoes been? Imagine evacuating the coast due to a hurricane only to get caught in a tornado further inland.

Far out on the desert to the north dustspouts rose wobbling and augered the earth and some said they'd heard of pilgrims borne aloft like dervishes in those mindless coils to be dropped broken and bleeding upon the desert again and there perhaps to watch the thing that had destroyed them lurch onward like some drunken djinn and resolve itself once more into the elements from which it sprang. Out of that whirlwind no voice spoke and the pilgrim lying in his broken bones may cry out and in his anguish he may rage, but rage at what? And if the dried and blackened shell of him is found among the sands by travelers to come yet who can discover the engine of his ruin?

Milton is down to 125 mph. I think the tornado outbreak could end up being the big story with this one.

Tornadoes will be a big part of the story, but wait for the storm surge, especially if Milton continues north and drives water up Tampa Bay.

Yeah . . . . what he said.

Got in from a great round of golf in Durham today and turned on the TV to see the storm in Florida. The reporters seem depressed that we may escape the worst outcome. Is it me or does this effed up media infatuation with bringing the worst to everyone outway bringing us something good once in a while? I'm familiar with if it bleeds it leads but as the greatest American Folk Philosopher Rodney King said "Can't we all just get along?"
So weird weather is considered political?
