Hurricane Milton Tropical Cyclone Update

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate
that Milton has strengthened to a category 5 hurricane. The
maximum sustained winds are estimated to be 160 mph (250 km/h) with
higher gusts. Data from the aircraft also indicate that the
minimum pressure has fallen to 925 mb (27.31 inches).
 
bout the only good thing I can see about Milton is looks like some of its feeder bands will be over the Yucatan and will thus suck up dry air.
 
It won't, besides the friction with land producing tornadoes. The eye sucks up the moisture and energy. Milton is on its way to Camille territory.

It doesn’t matter. I don’t think MTG was even talking about cloud seeding. As long as the far-right info bubble says “they” can control the weather, the people within the bubble, and some without, will believe it.
 
Helene and Milton are exactly what I predicted re: hurricanes as the October surprise. FEMAs presence is in the NC mountains, but they needed an embedded reporter and Kamala and Biden needed to be there earlier and longer.

Part Two will be Hurricane Milton and Florida impacts.

IMO, Biden needed to have given a speech on national TV the day after the floods. Even Republican Governors (Bill Lee - TN) and Senators (Thom tillis) are pushing back on the Trump Lies re: FEMA response, but the campaigns are leaking oil in NC, FL... two states that Kamala could win and end the race early.

There's an episode on the West Wing where President Jed Bartlet and part of his staff flew out to Oklahoma post a devastating tornado. POTUS stayed a couple of days, literally helping with the cleanup. The staff dragged him back to "the nation's business while Bartlett argued that his place for one more day was there. The staff won but they were wrong. He was right IMO. Because that WAS the nation's business.
 
I haven't seen any evidence that the Harris campaign is leaking oil in NC. What is your source for that?

??? The Gulf was poised for explosive development. The only thing that prevented more tropical systems was a late in the season high pressure ridge over Texas and the Gulf. The Death Ridge as I call it is usually a late June to mid-August phenomenon. this year after Beryl it established itself in late July, until the beginning of September, then made an appearance last in September.

Helene was not really a surprise except for the 1000 year level rain in the NC mountains. Milton beasting is no surprise at all to hurrican watchers an d the NHC.

Unfortunately, Climate Change (elevated CO2 levels) is making 500 and 1000 year events commonplace.

If Dems could control the weather, then why was, per their misinformation, FEMA not ready? Wouldn't FEMA show up far ahead of time like they were pre-cogs?

Yeah, I know reason and logic don't enter into the MTG/MAGA narrative.

I wasn't making an astute political statement. I was just amused how the two quoted posts echoed the lyric.

I'm right there with you in terms of the inevitability of all this and have been since the late 70s.
