The most severe storm cells have been missing Greensboro to both east and west so far. Fingers crossed that it continues.

Hit hard in uptown but the system is moving so fast the bad part only lasted a minute.

Tornado warnings make me miss retired meteorologist Eric Thomas. I always enjoyed hearing him advise people to lie down in a ditch if they were unable to seek shelter.

I remember one guy telling folks that and then said "I hope it goes without saying, but if there's a lot of water in the ditch, don't lie down with your face submerged" :D

Are we still expecting rough weather in Raleigh today? It’s been much quieter than I expected based on what the news was saying

Probably about 30-45 minutes for Wake...looks like yall could get heavier stuff

It just went through here. And the line completely broke apart over Orange Co. It didnt even rain with the "line" of storms.

I don't think the level 4 out of 5 threat was warranted. The showers and clouds this morning are keeping the instability down that's needed for more severe storms. I don't know why that can't be forecasted better. Seems to happen often here when there is a severe threat.

Not as bad as originally predicted. Moreso just a typical spring storm pattern today, maybe a strong storm here or there.

Yup, each time this happens the media and weather services lose credibility with people. And I hate it, because they are put in a lose-lose situation. They are trying to predict the future, and if they are wrong then people will get mad at them. At the end of the day they think it is best to over-warn than to underprepare people. The problem is when people start to ignore the warnings because they've heard them time and time again and nothing has happened.
