Diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the larynx a little over 5 years ago. Got lucky, the treatment worked and I should get the all clear in January. Still no fun and getting old is better.
Wonderful ending

Phone companies dispute FBI testimony on pipe bombs suspect, key lawmaker reveals

Cellular carriers have told Congress they possess intact phone usage data from the vicinity where two pipe bombs were planted during the Jan. 6 incident, directly disputing FBI testimony that agents couldn't identify a suspect because the phone data was corrupted, a key House chairman tells Just the News.

The revelations from Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the chairman of the House Administration oversight subcommittee, adds new intrigue to a debate that has gripped Washington for nearly four years: Why can't the FBI with so much evidence and manpower identify the suspect who planted the explosive devices at the Democrat and Republican Party headquarters hours before the Capitol was breached.

“In the days and weeks following January 6, 2021, the FBI opened an investigation into the pipe bomber and attempted to identify the suspect by analyzing cell phone data linked to the area surrounding the RNC and DNC,” Loudermilk told Just the News.

“In June 2023, the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, Steve D’Antuono, who oversaw the pipe bomb investigation, said that the FBI received corrupted data from one of the cell carriers and that it most likely contained the identity of the pipe bomber. Given the significance of this information, my Subcommittee sent letters to the three major cell carriers, asking them to respond to Mr. D’Antuono’s claim of corrupted data,” he said.

“Every major cell carrier responded and confirmed that they did not provide the FBI corrupted data,” Loudermilk said.

“Additionally every major cell carrier confirmed they were never notified that the FBI had any issues accessing the data. This contradictory testimony raises some serious questions about the status of the investigation into the pipe bomber and about why the case remains unsolved nearly four years later,” he added.

Last year, D’Antuono told the House Judiciary Committee that the FBI did not a receive complete phone data from telephone carriers because some of it had been corrupted.

“We did a complete geofence. We have complete data. Not complete, because there's some data that was corrupted by one of the providers, not purposely by them, right. It just -- unusual circumstance that we have corrupt data from one of the providers,” D’Antuono testified in a transcribed interview.

“But for that day, which is awful because we don't have that information to search. So could it have been that provider? Yeah, with our luck, you know, with this investigation it probably was, right,” he said.

Would you keep this to political threads?

Bruce Willis knew what it was like to be a TV dinner . . . . . my fave was that Swanson Beans & Franks dinna, but, it didn't take a lot to impress a 10 year old, and we only got those when the parents were out on a date night. 1960s era . .

To the lawyers, I could provide some more specifics if necessary but in general, what are the chances my friend who got a girl pregnant on a dating app, they had a daughter, the mom and daughter moved in with him into a house he bought, it's been a couple of years but she now wants to take the daughter to her family's hometown which is several hours away by car.

In general, what are the chances he can prevent her from doing that?

Not a lawyer. Think you've earned the right to start a thread with something like ATTN Legal Beagles advice needed.

Might get more response.

To the contrary, I think any lawyer who responded to this sketchy of a description of a complex situation would have lost his or her mind. For example, I readily admit I don't know the details of every app, but I am unaware of any app that would allow a man to impregnant a woman. If there is such an app, I do not want it on my phone.

Depends on what kind of fee they are getting. 😁
Reminds me of a scene from "Cheers" where Fraiser's mother shows up at the bar, prior to Diane's and Fraiser's planned marriage, and asks Sam Malone if he is the one who previously dated Diane. When Sam replies that he was, Fraiser's mother asked how much it would cost for him to re-kindle their relationship. To which Sam replied, "You don't have that kind of money." To which Fraiser's mom responded, "You might be surprised at how much money I have." To which, Sam came back with, "There isn't enough money." And Fraiser's mom agreed.

When I wrote it, I knew it came off that way but I was too lazy to change it. Guess I learned my lesson.

First, it depends on the state. Second, it depends on whether the hometown is in the same state. Third, it depends on who has custody. Fourth, it depends on her rationale for so doing. Fifth, any drug use?

But in general, there's at least a decent chance that he could prevail -- subject to all the caveats above. And by decent, I mean more than 10% Could be higher but again, there are so many variables that I couldn't offer any specifics. It's not hopeless to bring it to the court's attention.

The fact that the relationship between mom and dad here is akin to an non-formalized shotgun wedding will probably not help him. It also seems likely that he's single, and possibly his life is in flux, and that also wouldn't help. But again, family law cases really turn on details. And judges/decision makers. Where I live, the judges are all idiots and they make incomprehensible decisions and I've been screwed multiple times.

Appreciate it.

Same state, town 6 hour drive away in the middle of Kansas. No drug use. Rationale is just being closer to home.

As to custody, I don't know. I would assume the mom has custody rights when there's no arrangement prior to having the baby aside from matching on a dating app and then getting pregnant.

But yeah, I just wanted a general sense. I know these things are wildly complicated and depend on a number of things including the judges mood.
