Went to prep my grill on Friday to cook a pork butt yesterday since Food Lion has them for 99 cents a pound, raised the hinged lid and it fell off. Can't much complain. It's a 12+ year old Akorn that's been moved four times, neglected a bit in the cancer years and generally a bit abused. Essentially the sleeve bolts holding it in place rusted enough to pull loose.

J-B Weld to the rescue. Used some epoxy with steel after cleaning and sanding , gave it 15 hours to cure and started the butt at 7:15 this morning. We'll see how well and long it holds up.

This is why I like local businesses. My pharmacy just called. They had noted that I was running out of a medication in 5 days and wanted to know if I wanted them to go ahead and fill it. Little conveniences like that matter to me.

I don't think that's a local business/personal service thing. My Part D plan specifies friggin' Walgreens and they always let me know via phone, email and/or text when it is getting close to time to refill. And if there are no refills remaining, they will take care of communicating with the MD to get a Rx renewed.

I also appreciate small businesses and try to support them whenever I can, but what you describe is common practice for pretty much all pharmacies.

Yes! Problem is the bigs have run off most local pharmacies. Kroger put my meds on auto fill. I now have more insulin lispro than the Kroger pharmacy. Have requested they leave refills to me.

The Right-Wing goes on endlessly about classroom indoctrination - Endlessly. If History Teachers Could Actually Indoctrinate Students then this would be The Bible.

Tru dat. We were standing in line at our locally-owned, downtown movie theater for tickets, when the owner came out and said, "We are having a problem with our credit card machine. We won't start the movie until everyone is in the theater." That is awesome.

I knew a guy married to a bi woman. We never talked much about it but I know that she had friends and that they occasionally shared. It wasn't a particular secret that I know of, though.

There could have been others but I never talked about mine or other people's private lives whether work or play. Used to irritate hell out of people
