Agreed. CBS should have said "most" not "every." The accident investigations typically have a primary cause and many secondary causes. But some crashes have just a single issue.
Ok,yes. 9/11 crashes had a single issue.

Are you and Zoo aviation professionals?

So, I did temper that and didn't make an absolute declaration. Basically, because I didn't know.

Very interesting, I would have never suspected engine bird-ingestion certification testing was a thing. But I guess it does make sense if there is a risk of hitting birds.

You know, ever since COVID I have no concept of time. I was never formally diagnosed with COVID, but I do wonder. The reason I say this, is if someone would have asked when this happened, there's no possible way I would have answered 16 years ago. I would have probably answered 7 years ago. This worries me.

Can't speak for Zoo, but I am not. Have done some reading on plane crashes, though. Malcom Gladwell discussed the Korean Air crash and the impact of cultural values on that crash in Outliers, which started me thinking about why plane crashes happen.

Need to look at near miss trends

Every aviation accident is the result of a chain of events. Break the chain anywhere and the accident doesn’t happen. The pilots were at the end of the chain. The chain could start as early as the helicopter mechanic’s breakfast the day before, or even years of legislators lobbying for flights into the congested airspace.
That doesn’t explain the screeching squealing “DEI!!!!!!!” echoing off every wall.

True derangement when your explanation for everything wrong in the world is “someone, somewhere, directly or indirectly involved in this tragedy isn’t a white man. And goddamnit, we’ll find them, if it’s the last thing we do!”

To imply we don’t need better qualified and competent ATC is wrong. As someone else said today, when you or a loved one is flying into an airport or just on a plane, what’s more important to you, the color of their skin and what gender they are or how much experience they have and how competent they are. Are you really saying with something as critical as ATC that it’s ok to not seek to have the best?
Talk about lack of comprehension or bad faith or, in your case, both. How could any competent good faith reader think that what I was implying is that we don't need qualified and competent ATC? My entire point was that, based on the actual record of hundreds of thousands of accident free flights over many decades, the proof is in that we do indeed have competent and qualified ATC and have for many years.

You then ask a couple of your typical mewling, disingenuous questions that very much insinuate that you're blaming DEI for something that hasn't even actually happened, so it's not a gross misrepresentation of what you said, or a misrepresentation at all. The fact that you then quote another one of your posts that I never read, referenced or quoted as some kind of proof that I didn't comprehend what you said, misrepresented what you said, and was posting in bad faith completes the pathetic picture of your dishonest dealing in this case..

Results matter. Concepts of a plan don’t count.

I said that if Trump lowers the deficit I will give him props. Let’s wait for the numbers to make a determination.
He's not even that far. He's concepts of an outcome. He's advocating efficiency as a vague concept, as if efficiency is the actual goal and not just a word needed to complete a meme acronym.

I don't know anyone who has actually dealt with consultants that would recommend bringing in people with no knowledge of an industry and giving them broad power to change one output of a complex system. If the goal is getting the most bang for our buck in government, on a macro level I can't support bringing in people with no clue how to evaluate half of the equation. Since this is all just sports to some people, I'll put it in different terms. On a macro level, this plan is hiring Gerry Faust.

I hate articles such as this one.

“Best 9-day start to a Presidential term since 2013……..”
  1. It’s only 3 Presidential terms - 2017, 2021, and 2025.
  2. It’s only 9 days.
And it's excluding everything that happened before. Presidential terms don't really start on inauguration day. Trump was fucking with the markets since November and before.

or maybe you hate giving credit where credit is due
Should Trump get more credit for the 857 points the Dow rose from 1/21 to 1/30, or more blame for the 337 points he unilaterally caused it to drop yesterday afternoon by announcing idiotic tariffs on our most important trading partners?

anyone supporting Trump's policy of firing all of any FBI agent who did his duty and participated in the investigations of Trump and the J6 rioters ?
I would be interested in getting the opinions of calla, ramrouser, and Hy

Their response will be some variation of, “He’s just cleaning out the deep state.”

Who knows yet if stocks will defy tariffs? The tariffs started today. When they were announced yesterday afternoon, markets lost over 1%. I agree with Zooview here. It's simply too early to tell. It's a risky and potentially dumb move. Most economists don't seem to like tariffs and Trump's power play is bound to do harm to our relationship with our closest neighbors and allies.

The headline makes it look vindictive and petty. With trump it very well could be. I don't know enough about his core complaint or the details of his investigation other than the "raid". He was definitely targeted in his first election and the appearance of the fbi being politicized is there so I'm sure there are some that deserve to be fired and some caught up in who likely shouldn't be fired. That's what happens when you get people high up in the fbi stating they have to stop him or how ever you want to word it. Patel wouldn't be my pick.
