Nothing here is sigh worthy. If Trump wins, this case is going away anyway. If Trump loses, this case will continue through a few more trips to the Supreme Court. There is nothing meaningful at this stage about Trump delaying his response brief a few more weeks.

My "sigh" is not specific to this particular delay. The delay just amplifies the absurdity that this has been going on for 4 years since the coup attempt ,and there has been no trial much less an adjudication... and so the beat goes on

I don’t think she’d get Collins’ vote and possibly not Murkowsi. I don’t think she’d be confirmed. It is extraordinarily rare for a district court judge to be elevated all the way to the Supreme Court. The Eleventh Circuit is much more likely.

11th Cir ain't gonna give her a choice on the Trump case. Now that it's been leaked that she was on Trump's AG list, they can't possibly give it back to her. There was already enough reason to take it. Now, the appearance of bias is so strong that they would have no choice, right?

It’s not going to matter if Trump wins. If Trump loses, it’s going to another judge. Hopefully one that doesn’t sit in the conservative Ft. Pierce jury pool.

“Mr. Trump, this Court hereby orders that on January 21, 2029, you turn yourself in to the New York State Department of Corrections for the commencement of your sentence. Failure to do so will result in an order for your arrest and may result in additional criminal charges.”
 
Judge Merchan has delayed his ruling in the NY hush money and financial fraud case. He is supposed to rule on the Trump team's last request to set aside the guilty verdict.

Judge Merchan will now rule on that on Nov. 19th. Sentencing was supposed to happen late this month.

I can’t imagine a scenario in which Trump doesn’t give himself a blanket pardon on Day 1. I’d support Smith releasing detailed reports, but there’s no way the cases could stay alive. Like, 0%.

Good Lord, how much hate do these TDS attorneys have for Trump. I mean to suggest Smith dismiss his case without prejudice so you can later argue that the statute of limitations is tolled during Trump’s presidency so that the case can be revived in 2025! Yeah, that’s the ticket just like the NYC fraud case.

They simply can’t give up on their dream to see Trump in an orange jumpsuit. You lost lawfare. Get over it and move on to something else.
