here's a hint, steelyboy: it isn't "lawfare" when the law breaking was EXTREMELY real and EXTREMELY prolific and EXTREMELY widespread.

I haven't found the motions. This comes from NBC:Cannon was already a shoe-in for the 11th Circuit, but I'll be surprised if she's not on the SCOTUS short lists now. She's an abysmal judge, but I have to give her credit as a political operator.
The live reporting sounded like the appeals judge was very dubious of the Trump team arguments.
Well, it looks like that technicality may be resolved on Friday, though who knows, maybe Aileen Cannon will discover she has jurisdiction in New York now, too (I kid). Not sure if it was this thread but i mentioned before that trump might not be a felon yet, technically
I asked ChatGPT this question:
is trump a felon before sentencing
No, a person is not considered a felon unless they have been convicted of a felony and sentenced for that conviction. In the case of Donald Trump or anyone else, if he has been convicted of a felony but has not yet been sentenced, he would be classified as a convicted felon after sentencing. Until sentencing occurs, the term "felon" is not typically applied, even after a conviction.
I call him a felon b/c he was convicted of 34 felony counts. There is short-hand and whatever ChatGPT used for its response to your query. I disagree with the bot about when "felon" is typically applied conversationally and in reporting in my experience. I'm not sure it matters a whole lot.Seems like someone on this board would have know that.
Wait, you're using a ChatGPT response, which could be relying on any underlying source, to answer this question, and then using it to suggest "someone on this board" should have known it? We don't know it because it's not true. I have no idea on what information ChatGPT was relying and you don't either. But I can assure you as a legal professional Trump is a felon whether or not he is ever sentenced, unless his convictions are somehow reversed or vacated. Sentencing has nothing to do with his status as a convicted felon. Not sure if it was this thread but i mentioned before that trump might not be a felon yet, technically

Except in determining certain rights (like right to vote) in some states -- so it does have some technical relevance but generally is not some great truism.Wait, you're using a ChatGPT response, which could be relying on any underlying source, to answer this question, and then using it to suggest "someone on this board" should have known it? "Technically" he's a convicted felon but not an adjudicated felon. The jury convicted him on 34 felony counts. The convictions can't be appealed until a final order with the sentence is entered. Given Trump's penchant for litigation and contempt for the legal system whenever he is held to account, an appeal is inevitable. "Justice delayed is justice denied".No but when i asked the question i was shot down here, even tho i prefaced it will "technically" That was the question not conversationally
Of course it doesn't matter much but i was right apparently
