Ah yes, the "century-long era of progressive government" that has turned America into a third-world hellscape. Wait - what's that? It's actually been the most successful and prosperous period of American history? Nevertheless, clearly it must end.
Progressive government is bad and "liberal" is a dirty word. Government should only benefit the wealthy (and those willing to follow them). If you disagree, you're a communist. Or is it a fascist? It's confusing. Whatever, you should believe what you're told.

That is simply fucking insane, and ought to terrify anybody about what they're actually planning here. And now that they control more and more of our social and news media they can promote this propaganda on a larger scale than ever before. I will say one thing for right-wingers, they never, ever give up and they are incredibly tenacious and persistent. These people have been fighting the New Deal for nine decades now, have never really surrendered to it, and are now finally in a position to abolish most of it. Hell, there are even discussions of abolishing progressive reforms enacted by Teddy Roosevelt 120 years ago. They just don't stop. And unfortunately most Americans are clueless and just keep smiling and complacently saying "it surely won't be that bad, it wasn't last time."

How many NO's can Murkowski, Collins, Mitch and Utah guy handle?
LOL. Maybe Murkowski will actually oppose most of these people, but the others will likely go along with nearly all of these appointees. Collins will vote yes while furling her brow and expressing her deep concern, of course.

One of the qualifications to be the leader of another country must be to have the self-control necessary to avoid punching Trump in the face.

President-elect Donald Trump joked to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada should become a 51st state during a discussion on tariffs over dinner Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club last Friday, two sources briefed on the conversation told CNN.

Trudeau’s impromptu trip to Florida came just days after Trump promised massive hikes in tariffs on goods coming from Mexico and Canada starting on the first day of his administration, specifically calling for a 25% tariff on all products sent to the US, a version of which Trump mentioned during the dinner. After what was described as polite pushback on the matter from Trudeau on how such tariffs would hurt the Canadian economy, Trump joked that if that were the case, maybe Canada should join the United States as a 51st state, the sources said. One source emphasized that the comment was meant to be a joke, and that the other dinner guests took it as one.

Trudeau should have countered with an offer to become the 51st through 63rd states and mentioned how it would be the largest “acquisition” by any US President and no one could ever top it.

Haha! That might work for Trump, but there's enough GOPers in Congress who are smarter than him.

Trump has said that he doesn't kid. He doesn't joke. And indeed I can't remember him ever doing so.

Remember: this is the dude who wanted to buy Greenland.

Sheriff Chad Chronister, President-elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to lead the Drug Enforcement Administration, withdrew his name from consideration for the office on Tuesday, only three days after he was nominated.

Sheriff Chronister, who is in charge of the sheriff’s department in Hillsborough County, Fla., announced his withdrawal in a message on social media, saying that as “the gravity of this very important responsibility set in,” he had changed his mind about accepting the nomination.

The gravity of Team Trump agreeing to FBI background checks set in(???)
