Just watched a reel where Mr. Beast floated the idea of buying Twitter (I refuse to call it the other name). Now I readily admit that this could be a huge fake or something from some time ago. If Mr. Beast bought it I would come back to it. I miss my sports content UFC, Heels, Canes etc. Bluesky is nice, but I do miss my Twitter.

Mr. Beast is getting ahead of himself a bit. He should probably focus on the allegations of horrific mistreatment of his staff and contestants.

Whatever form it takes, I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the next four years will see a MASSIVE expansion of executive power at the expense of the legislature, the courts and the states. I still can’t figure out how so many people who think of themselves as small government advocates have been deluded into supporting this movement. I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say that Democrats are more conservative than 2025’s version of MAGA.
Given the structural advantages Republicans have in the senate, and the tendency toward gridlock (especially as long as the filibuster remains part of the senate process) transferring power from the legislature to the executive would probably be a long-term structural advantage for Democrats.

What SCOTUS giveth, SCOTUS can taketh away.

Trump: ‘We don’t need’ Latin America

The president’s comments seem poised to throw cold water on hopes Trump would re-engage partners in the Western Hemisphere.

“… Trump was asked about relations with Latin America and Brazil and said the relationship “should be great.” But he made it clear who needs who more in the relationship.

They need us much more than we need them. We don't need them,” he said. “They need us. Everybody needs us.

Those comments seem poised to deflate hopes of some in Latin America that Trump would refocus resources on shoring up ties with countries in the Americas.

China and Russia have increased their footholds in the region over the past decade, financing major infrastructure projects including deep water ports, and providing more security partnerships for authoritarian states such as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Those hopes were buoyed by Trump’s pick of newly confirmed Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was a key voice on Latin America policy in the Senate. …”
and the Latino voters are meeting the leopards too.

Just shocked I say.

In recent months, Musk has expressed support for Germany's far right AfD party, attempted to stoke a race war in the UK, and transformed himself into Trump's Goebbels. Given this context, flippantly dismissing Musk's hand signal yesterday as an "awkward gesture" seems irresponsible and imprudent at best.

I have been saying this all along. It is an administrative nightmare and might be an impossibility.

Maybe for a while you could prove parent’s citizenship status by their birth certificate (if available) and the fact that they were born before 1/20/2025 but in the distant future one would have to produce birth certificates going back to relatives born before 2025.

One thing to remember is that Latinos aren't necessarily as homogeneous as the pollsters seem to lump them. There's a fair amount of Mexican American voters, maybe even majority, that don't really like the central Americans.

But I'm not sure Trump is necessarily going to make that distinction. I think those Mexican American voters who are citizens now and have been here for a while think that they are safe and it's going to be the folks they don't really care for that get deported. But somebody's cousin or somebody's nephew is going to get deported and that's going to hurt.

The crypto industry eagerly awaited Donald Trump’s return to the White House. Now, it’s reeling after the president and first lady launched a pair of meme coins.

Dubbed $TRUMP and $MELANIA, the tokens have no economic purpose—their value is largely based on the popularity of internet memes. The market cap of the president’s coin has soared to $7.8 billion since Friday night’s launch, while the first lady’s token is worth about $800 million, according to CoinMarketCap.

By selling coins known for their speculative nature and extreme volatility, the president has undermined the credibility that the industry has worked hard to build in recent years, some crypto executives and investors say.

They also point to the brazen conflict of interest: Trump benefits directly from the sale of the tokens while setting the policy that affects how markets are valued and regulated.

Even the most ardent Trump supporters reached a breaking point when the $MELANIA token launched less than 48 hours after the rollout of her husband’s coin. …”
