They've given so much immunity to the president but that means you go after everyone else.
Not only presidential immunity, but immunity ( aka pardon ) for any Trumper who engages in act of violence in order to "save" the country.

This a green light for the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, and any MAGA militia or lone wolf MAGA lunatic to act as Trump's brown shirt paramilitary with impunity.

My snap judgement is “fucking do it”.

Republicans are already a group of such unserious, but dangerous, clowns that anything resulting in public fiasco, I welcome. They’re going to create chaos, regardless, let them do so in a blatantly personal, corrupt, and anti rule of law manner.

Light it on fire, fuckers.
By the hysterics it would appear that something has been lit

Looking back saves them from facing the reality of what lies ahead. They can just “reflect” on the Biden administration rather than connecting the dots to realize what the Trump administration is planning. They prefer to imagine every “questionable” data point exists in a vacuum, unrelated to every other unsavory data point which tells a story that is fairly self-evident unless one purposefully avoids the obvious big picture. Self-deception is a key feature of Trump voters over the past few weeks.

We have callayeahs throwing around accusations, all the while they will gleefully participate and/or cheer on violent repression.

Do you not think such a statement from the President of the United States is worthy of hysterics.

You can also save the "this is Trump speak" lecture. It isn't about how Trump himself intends the message. It is about how those who follow him fervently interpret the message.

At some point, you’re going to have stop whining about the last presidency and start recognizing the authoritarian shit show this one is becoming.
No, he really won't. That would require him looking in the mirror that he perpetually carries around shoving in the faces of "Dims" decrying their hypocrisy. He isn't up to the task of managing that for himself.

I think the stunt to make an absurdist offer to Zelensky to turn over half of Ukraines rare earth minerals was a setup for a deal that is already being cut between the Trump administration and the Putin regime — Russia currently controls most of the Ukrainian territory with rare earth deposits. I think the deal being cut will be Russia keeps that territory if it divvies up those rare earth spoils with the USA.
I think the pressure to get Zelensky to sign an agreement for mineral rights on the spot was to have a verifiable starting point for negotiations to this effect. If Trump can say “Zelensky agreed to give us half” it’s easier to get Putin to acquiesce to a similar split. Of course, that would be a phenomenally bad deal (very own brand with Trump) with Russian occupation of the territory and no US forces anywhere nearby. What US company would invest in mining infrastructure in Putin-controlled land?

Consumption growth that outpaced peers (was worst among peers under Trump 1.0)

Strong labor force participation (and big relative improvement from Trump 1.0)

Impressive relative inflation reduction (after Trump 1.0 had us leading the pack by the end of his term)

Outstanding attraction of capital investment

Hey M&C...can you ID the source of these graphs? I would like to share them.

Personally, I’m fine with Musk fathering a lot of US citizens. Imagine the average IQ of the bunch. Plus, he can afford ‘em.
Elon isn't the genius you think he is. He was an OK student who founded a stupid company that didn't do anything, but was purchased in the dot com mania and gave him seed money. He's been defrauding and conning people ever since.

Callatoroy doesn't care about the implications. If it upsets "leftists", it must be a good thing in his mind.

According to media, the White House website reposted Trump's incendiary qupte Napoleon made right before seiaing power.. The problem with dpwnplaying this is that if you read the Project 2025 dpocument (and those folks are part of Trump 2), they threaten ominous conseuences if people don't bow down. So hopefully that is just red mean rhetoric (albeit still very dangerous) but if not, the scenario might play out as:
Trymp Admin starts refusing to obey judiary
Constitutional crisis
Nationwide protests and then a general strike
Trump attempts to mpose martial law since that is Authoritarian Playbook 101

When you have Mitch McConnell voting to oppose Trump cabinet nominees, you know htese are strange days.

I am getting really annoyed with the international community refusing to stand up to Trump.

We are solely responsible for Trumpism but we need help from the international community and they are way too timid about it.

Look at Trudeau. He staved off tariffs by promising to do less than he was already doing. Ok, great, we all got a laugh out of it but in the meantime Trump got a major PR win. To the only people that matter, he won.

For goodness sakes, stop giving him these little victories.
