It may not be in the next two years, but there are days when I wonder if we are headed to a third impeachment. A order like that would be grounds I would think.

Very warped, is how I describe Trump. And I suppose warped enough to be mad.
He's already provided multiple grounds for impeachment. Pardoning the J6 protesters is impeachment worthy. The birthright citizenship order is impeachment worthy. In fact, in the former case, impeachment is required by our notion of the rule of law. The birthright citizenship order is more optional, but the president should not be making policy pronouncements that everyone knows to be unconstitutional.

Let’s just hope China focuses their retaliatory tariffs on red states like Canada said they would.
I would expect China to respond with an export tax in addition to tariffs. It doesn't buy all that much from the U.S. except food, so red states are hurt automatically. But then Trump will just re-allocate FEMA money to subsidize the farmers. Then he will complain that all the FEMA money was wasted by liberals.

What will the US offer? Is it going to be Hawaii or will it be Puerto Rico/Guam/American Samoa level growth? I would think they would start as territories and then Republicans would forever prevent a bunch of people used to Scandinavian style government services from becoming a state. No Congressmen = very limited infrastructure money.
I would like for it to happen under the right circumstances, i.e. greenlanders vote to become part of the US. I don't think that will happen. Greenland is in a position of leverage. The US desperately needs its rare earth minerals and other resources to reduce the dependence on china. I think greenland could have its cake and eat it to if they chose the right negotiator. They could set up the residents for a long time and get full state's rights or limited rights depending on what they want. Or, they could negotiate a long term land lease that gives them the financial resources and gives the US sole rights to the resources. It's a good time to be a greenlander.

Read the article I posted from the Guardian. It was very informative on the mindset of greenlanders. Whatever happens, I hope we don't fuck them over and we get what we want and they get what they want.

I see that you're taken to aping my posting style. It's an effective technique. A word of advice: if you look like Roseanne Barr, trying on Zendaya's clothes isn't going to address the main problem.
I haven't. I will ALWAYS post respectfully when someone affords me the same courtesy. He attacked me unprovoked in the first line of his post. I feel no obligation to treat him respectfully. It isn't my nature at all but fuck people like that. They have no desire for good faith discussion.

The firm that did that survey is called Patriot Polling which has a one star rating from 538 and is ranked 249 out of the 282 pollsters they rate. Oh, and it was also their first time conducting an international poll.
The idea that *anyone* in this country knows how to poll Greenland is hilarious. Polling firms in this country have spent a decade and probably at least hundreds of millions of dollars collectively trying to figure out how to poll the US. Greenland?

Assuming the Dems and independents vote no on Hegseth, they would still need one more to block his nomination. There had been some rumblings about Mitch McConnell being non-committal at some point but (a) I doubt Collins’ pearl-clutching will end with a no-vote anyway and (b) Mitch McConnell???

So you think Presidents draft their EOs? You think Biden had any general idea of what was put in front of him to sign? Trump talks about each EO as he signs them so he knows.
Well, unlike Mike Johnson, Biden knew what he signed in the LNG Executive Order.

One significant difference between Biden and Trump is that Biden a) knows about law; b) cares about law; c) understands how the world works; and d) pays attention to details.

Trump doesn't even understand basic things, like how gravity affects water systems, the difference between northern and southern california, and the 14th Amendment, just to take some of his ignorance from the last week or so. This is a guy who doesn't even know how to pronounce Yosemite.

Full states rights? While DC and Puerto Rico still don’t?

What Greenlanders want is independence. But there are only 68,000 people there.

Maybe Apex or Huntersville should get full states rights….they have about the same number of people.

But 25% on our closest ally. Makes sense.
I'm not knowledgeable about the amount of drugs coming in from Canada. He obviously has some reason for it so what is the story of fentanyl coming through canada and why does trump think canada isn't doing anything to stop it?

Greenland is in a far better position to negotiate for whatever they want. When PR, DC, apex and huntersville discover the 2nd largest deposits of rare earth minerals in the world they too can be in a position of power. They could ask for $50,000 per resident per year and it wouldn't be but a drop in the bucket for the value of the resources and expanded military possibilities. They nor Denmark have the finances to develop the island.

Seriously, the Biden of the last 3-4 years? You sound like KJP touting Biden's tremendous physical stamina ("none of us can keep up with him") and mental sharpness "behind the scenes."

Interesting article from the Cato Institute.

  • Fentanyl smuggling is ultimately funded by U.S. consumers who pay for illicit opioids: nearly 99 percent of whom are U.S. citizens.
  • In 2021, U.S. citizens were 86.3 percent of convicted fentanyl drug traffickers—ten times greater than convictions of illegal immigrants for the same offense.
  • Over 90 percent of fentanyl seizures occur at legal crossing points or interior vehicle checkpoints, not on illegal migration routes, so U.S. citizens (who are subject to less scrutiny) when crossing legally are the best smugglers.
  • The location of smuggling makes sense because hard drugs at ports of entry are about 97 percent less likely to be stopped than are people crossing illegally between them.
  • Just 0.02 percent of the people arrested by Border Patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever.
  • The government exacerbated the problem by banning most
