"Effective management of nearly 3 million military and civilian personnel, an annual budget of nearly $1 trillion, and alliances and partnerships around the world is a daily test with staggering consequences for the security of the American people and our global interests.

"Mr. Hegseth has failed, as yet, to demonstrate that he will pass this test. But as he assumes office, the consequences of failure are as high as they have ever been."

Some weirdo recorded himself losing $300k of his grandpa's money (inheritance?) in real time on DJT calls.

America is busting at the seams with easy marks.

I wonder if he had another account where he bought puts at the same strike price to offset some of those losses.

The Denali McKinley whiplash is stupid as hell

It's just going back to Denali again in the future. Fuck McKinley
And, probably no one who has climbed it in the last 20 years and who will climb it in the future will call it McKinley.

I would cut Germany some slack here. Because of their history, too much criticism of Israel would likely be counterproductive.

That doesn't mean they have to support Israel but there are other world powers better situated to holding Israel accountable.

Well, that’s kind of the point of the piece. I’d encourage you read it in full.

A full reckoning with their past would involve repudiation of their colonial legacy, which hasn’t happened. Instead, there was a narrow focus on the Holocaust as a singular historical event. The result of this is viewing Israel as the sole representative of the Jewish people. Thus they have aided and abetted another genocide through this narrow focus.

The immigrant crackdown has begun. Its first target might surprise you.

Trump is not just going after foreigners who break the law.

"Given the context, Trump seems poised to exercise this authority as part of his trade wars (against Chinese nationals in the United States, for example). Some have speculated that he’ll deploy it against people from the European Union and other countries that have agreed to a global minimum tax on multinational corporations. To be clear, this agreement was brokered by the United States — at least until Trump pulled out of it a few days ago. If Trump is reckless enough, his executive order will empower him to double taxes on every random British, Japanese or Canadian national (or, for that matter, Americans who have dual citizenship with such countries) working lawfully here."
The only way this is going to surprise you is if you weren't paying any attention.

So unfortunately it will still surprise a great many people.

Are you going back to the German who sowed the seed or the Nazis?

At the beginning of his career, Martin Luther was apparently sympathetic to Jewish resistance to the Catholic Church. However, he expected the Jews to convert to his purified Christianity; when they did not, he turned violently against them.

Luther used violent and vulgar language throughout his career. While we do not expect religious figures to use this sort of language in the modern world, but it was not uncommon in the early 16th century.

The following are excerpts from Luther’s work entitled The Jews & their Lies.

I had made up my mind to write no more either about the Jews or against them. But since I learned that these miserable and accursed people do not cease to lure to themselves even us, that is, the Christians, I have published this little book, so that I might be found among those who opposed such poisonous activities of the Jews who warned the Christians to be on their guard against them. I would not have believed that a Christian could be duped by the Jews into taking their exile and wretchedness upon himself. However, the devil is the god of the world, and wherever God’s word is absent he has an easy task, not only with the weak but also with the strong. May God help us. Amen.

He did not call them Abraham’s children, but a “brood of vipers” [Matt. 3:7]. Oh, that was too insulting for the noble blood and race of Israel, and they declared, “He has a demon’ [Matt 11:18]. Our Lord also calls them a “brood of vipers”; furthermore, in John 8 [:39,44] he states: “If you were Abraham’s children ye would do what Abraham did.... You are of your father the devil. It was intolerable to them to hear that they were not Abraham’s but the devil’s children, nor can they bear to hear this today.

Teaching students to follow the law, especially when it comes to border security and national security is a bad thing unless you are driven by emotion and your arrogance allows you to pick and choose which laws to follow. I'm glad that isn't the message UNC is sending.
The president does not follow the law himself and has sought to obstruct it multiple time.

Complete bullshit.

I find it interesting that he couldn't get accepted at USC where he wanted to go when he was a rich white male applying to a school that, at the time, was taking about 70% of their applicants but managed to transfer into a school that took less than 30% after a relative called in a personal favor from an ex room mate. I'm sure that bachelor's degree he has was well earned.
There's a good reason his grades are on lockdown.

Interesting article from the Cato Institute.

  • Fentanyl smuggling is ultimately funded by U.S. consumers who pay for illicit opioids: nearly 99 percent of whom are U.S. citizens.
  • In 2021, U.S. citizens were 86.3 percent of convicted fentanyl drug traffickers—ten times greater than convictions of illegal immigrants for the same offense.
  • Over 90 percent of fentanyl seizures occur at legal crossing points or interior vehicle checkpoints, not on illegal migration routes, so U.S. citizens (who are subject to less scrutiny) when crossing legally are the best smugglers.
  • The location of smuggling makes sense because hard drugs at ports of entry are about 97 percent less likely to be stopped than are people crossing illegally between them.
  • Just 0.02 percent of the people arrested by Border Patrol for crossing illegally possessed any fentanyl whatsoever.
  • The government exacerbated the problem by banning most
Just echoes what Ive always said.

The drug problem in the US starts with the ravenous demand for drugs from US consumers.

Trump’s recent posts can only be fully viewed with an account on the Truth Social App (I am not inclined to do any of that) so will be interesting if this continues. In the meantime,
