I’m with you. I don’t think of him as a MAGA loon. He’s a lickspittle, to be sure, but they all are. As Trump appointments go, this isn’t a bad one.

It’s a bad one in that he’s not exactly a diplomatic person. There are worse choices out there though, and I’m not sure anyone better would actually want to work for Trump.
