This will address your and UNCBAdookJD's posts.

You guys were repeatedly warned about being too woke, biden's mental collapse, the out of control border, inflation (excluding gas prices), gas prices, the over zealous attacks on trump (you actually made him a martyr) etc. What did you do? It was a "we know better than you mentality". You actually shunned the democratic process and handpicked the worst possible, least likable, and one of the most woke people in your party. And you think it was just ignorance by centrist voters who were to dumb to see beyond egg and gas prices? That is the height of lacking awareness. As for caring about their pocketbooks, that isn't a shocker or anything new. Was your side to brain dead to understand that?
Nobody gives a shit about any of that. It is all noise. People vote on how they feel about the economy and little else. Most Trump voters can’t even name any of his policies and even in the debates Trump only had “concepts of a plan.” The internet is already replete with Trump voters regretting their vote as they have started Googling the word “tariff.”

The "too woke" thing is a load of horseshit made up. 95% of people who voted for Biden or Harris don't care much at all about the kinds of issues you've addressed as being considered "woke".

As for most of the rest of it, you address someone else. I never thought Biden was capable of running again and vocally said so the entire time.

That doesn't make Trump a martyr. Nothing reasonably makes Trump a martyr. Donald Trump is the least ethical, least moral, and overall worst human to ever hold major political office in the United States in my lifetime at least. Full stop with that.

And i never said ignorance. You did. I said they don't think. If they did, they could easily see past a lot of the noise. But they don't. They FEEL.

OK.

I'd agree with the exception that as soon as Trump got elected his voter's perceptions of the economy improved almost overnight. Before the election they were all complaining about "Biden inflation" and the prices of everything - houses, cars, groceries - going up, but as soon as Trump won polls showed these same voters suddenly saying that the economy was doing well and inflation wasn't really such a big worry for them anymore. So even the economic issue is mostly smoke and mirrors for his voters.

I wanted to post this in response to the 'magic ponies' meme, but can't find it.

In shift, Trump downgrades soaring rhetoric on campaign promises

President-elect Trump on the campaign trail made grandiose promises to voters to bring down costs quickly, to end the war in Ukraine before he even took office and to use tariffs to bolster the U.S. economy and manufacturing.

Since winning November’s election, Trump has indicated delivering on those promises may not be as simple as advertised.

Trump in a recent “Meet the Press” interview said he could not guarantee tariffs would not lead to higher consumer prices.

He acknowledged in a Time magazine interview for his Person of the Year honor that it’s difficult to bring down the cost of groceries once they’ve gone up.

And in his first post-election press conference from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Trump suggested ending the war in Ukraine would be more difficult than easing tensions in the Middle East.

While Democrats and critics accused Trump of lowering expectations or signaling he would not deliver on his campaign promises, the Trump transition and other allies argued it was the president-elect shifting from sweeping campaign rhetoric to the nuances and realities of governing.

MAGAs may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, but some are beginning to realize they got snookered ;)
